We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Glykeria Hotel — a true gem in Crete! From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and well taken care of. The host was incredible: always available, genuinely kind, and eager to help us with anything we needed. She went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and even helped us shape our vacation itinerary with local tips and recommendations we wouldn’t have found on our own. What makes this place even more special is that it’s a family-run business with a beautiful history that dates back to the grandparents. Hearing their story added such a personal, authentic touch to our stay. The rooms were lovely, clean, and comfortable, with an unforgettable view of the sea — we started each morning with coffee on the balcony, soaking it all in. (Yes, coffee was included in the room, which we really appreciated!) Although breakfast wasn’t included, we happily ate at their restaurant across the street every morning — everything was fresh, local, and absolutely delicious. In fact, we ended up eating all our meals there during our 3-day stay because the food was just that good. Every dish was a highlight, and you could really feel the love and care that went into the cooking. If you’re looking for a peaceful, heartfelt experience in Crete with great hospitality, views, and food — Glykeria Hotel is the place. We can’t wait to come back!

I really liked how peaceful and beautiful the place was. The apartment was very clean and modern, and the private pool was perfect for relaxing. Holy Sea Smart Suites is like a five star hotel room; in fact it’s much more than that. A large parking for the car, a nice garden with a beautiful view of the sea and an ancient monastery. You can make your own breakfast in the morning with a high tech small kitchen or your aperitif in the evening during the sunset ( at least in June you will see the Sun desappear in the sea) All the forniture is branded new; led lights eveywhere, a large tv in case you want to see some movies. The Wi-Fi connection is perfect. Check in and check out have been very good; the owners speak a very good english; they built Holy Sea Smart Suites with love and knowledge. In the Elafonisi area it’s the perfect choice for your vacation. it's worth much more than what you pay.

This was a lovely villa in a peaceful location, great for 3 adults. The outside facilities were fantastic with a delightful swimming pool, comfortable loungers, hammocks and tables and chairs in the shade. It's in easy reach of the famous Elafonisi Beach but also other beaches, including the nearby White Lake beach which was beautiful and very quiet. The owner was very helpful, giving directions to the beaches.

The beach is amazing, one of the most beautiful we've ever visited. Water is turquoise and sand is truly pink at the water's edge. Loved long walks, shore swims and the sand was amazing. Next to the beach is a conservation area that is really lovely and I enjoyed the walk! Walk across the relatively shallow water to the island to the right of the main beach. Get there early especially on weekends else all the lounge chairs will be taken! Do NOT park at the first parking lot as you enter town, the rates are MUCH higher than the $5 lot that comes next!

If you don’t stay overnight in the village and come by car,...

If you don’t stay overnight in the village and come by car, there are plenty of parking spots (3–5 € per day). The beach is beautiful — best to visit early in the morning (8–11) or later in the afternoon (16–19) when it’s less crowded. A small disadvantage is that there are only two tavernas nearby, and the mini market sells water at a higher price than elsewhere in Crete.

It's a nice beach and especially good if you are traveling...

It's a nice beach and especially good if you are traveling with young children since the water is shallow and warm. For my personal taste the main beach is too crowded and touristy and would prefer quieter more rugged beaches, but it was a great destination traveling as a family with a toddler because it was safe and clean and we were staying at a hotel within walking distance from the beach.

Great beach with varied water levels and temperatures from 20 to 30o C in the summer I’d say. Walk and swim around to find your perfect spot. The sand is wet in most of the places. A lot of nature but heavily visited especially on Mondays and Tuesdays from what it seemed to is during our stay. Two beach bars, two restaurants above, several room rental places, two supermarkets and some shops. Prices are a bit high from Crete, especially in the supermarkets, but still good options. The connection to Kissamos and Chaina is not bad, please not there is a new motorway section in the mountains that bypasses Topolia and its gorge tunnel that is not in Google maps yet.

Elafonissi beach is truly spectacular.

Elafonissi beach is truly spectacular. Definitely worth a visit. The beach is very crowded. The only alternative beach within a radius of 20 km has natural shade from trees (convenient in the wind). In case of wind, it is also quite crowded.

Elafonissi beach is beautiful but can get very crowded. Paddle over to the island for more secluded areas. It is well worth the effort The taverna at Elafonissi village is excellent value for food and drinks with friendly staff who never make you feel hurried

What a fabulous location! The view from the cute outdoor area is amazing - a perfect spot to sit in the evening sun. The room is very clean and cute. Although, small it's perfect for a few nights and great to be able to explore Elafonisi before and after the crowds. A couple of lovely tavernas are a short walk away. The track from the road is well signposted and easy to drive.

Maria and Nikos and everyone at the hotel were so nice and friendly - they made the trip extra special. The bedroom was nice and comfortable with a lovely view over the sea. The pool was very refreshing after a day in the sun. The restaurant was fab - lovely traditional Greek food washed down with local Lyra beer and wine. Highly recommend a stay!

Really lovely staff who made us feel so welcome, good location only a 5-10 min drive to Elafonisi Beach car parks (there is a walk from there). Great breakfast if you want to eat in the upstairs restaurant and we really enjoyed sitting there each evening with a drink, watching the sun set over the monastery and out to sea,
