The beach is lovely - sandy and not too busy.
The beach is lovely - sandy and not too busy. The sea is clean and perfect temperature for snorkelling, swimming or playing in. About half the beach has sunloungers on it but there is space to also play sports or just sit away from other people. There are lots of places to visit from Kalamaki - Matala beach with its caves, ancient Phaistos, Zaros lake and Rouvas gorge, Agia Galini is not far if you want to take boat trips. Kalamaki has a really good supermarket and lots of restaurants even though it is a small place. Lots of different nationalities of holidaymakers. It is a really nice, relaxing place. It is in the quieter side of Kalamaki so the beach was not crowded and we could enjoy it. The owners are kind and accommodating and the staff as well is friendly. We travelled with a 3y.o. who is quite picky with his food and the owners went above and beyond to make sure he was ok. We enjoyed the sunrise and sunset!
