Elafos is an absolute gem for anyone seeking a retreat and experience of the Greek hospitality and culture. It is beautifully nestled in a quiet village with a pool for a refreshing dip on warmer summer days. The staff - Manos Stavroula and housekeeping staff were absolutely wonderful!!! Our room was perfect and the bed was one of the most comfortable - we can say we had our best sleep here. :) This hotel has heart - its evident in the detail that has gone into its design and the pride taken in ensuring guests are warmly welcomed. Much as we would like to keep this gem a secret, we would without hesitation give it a full star rating and highly recommend a stay here. We are grateful to Manos especially for the moments that we take as memories to last a lifetime - the best souvenir!

We had a fantastic stay at Mpelleiko. Our host Nena was the best we have ever had, and we are very well travelled. We stayed at the property the beginning of October and the weather was perfect for hiking but the nights cool enough for a jacket. Nena met us in town so we could follow her to her property and show us where to park. Our room had everything we could possibly want even a torch for walking down to the town to eat at night. It is a wonderful property built in the 1600's and the garden outside is beautiful. I had a head cold when we arrived so Nena made me a drink from her grandmother's recipe to help the symptoms. Breakfast was amazing it was was home made from local produce and from her own garden. Bread was stone milled and home made it really was superb, the views from the breakfast room were stunning We wanted to do a days hike from Stemnitsa to Dimitsana so Nena sat down with us and explained the route, advised us which way to go and said she would call a taxi for us when we got to Dimitsana and also gave us a map to use. Towards the end of the walk the signs disappeared so we called Nena and she talked us through till we got back on the trail. Walking down into the town for dinner in the evening meant navigating quite a few stairs, it took less than 10 mins and we were happy to do that, but you could always drive instead and it would only take a few minutes. Stemnitsa has limited restaurant options, we ate at the pub both evenings, the meals were tasty and enormous. Dimitsana has more eating options but we were pleased we stayed in Stemnitsa as it is small, quaint and beautiful, we really loved our stay at Mpelleiko with our wonderful host

An impeccable hotel with beautiful rooms and views. There is even a fireplace. Beds are excellent. Delicious breakfast. Short ride/walk up the hill to a jewel of a town with delicious meals and exceptional views.

A nice hotel built in local stone. Lovely views from the balcony of the valley below. Plenty of parking. Room was very comfortable with a good bathroom. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Nice place to stay.
