The apartment is big and looks new, fully equipped, clean, with a backyard perfect for breakfast. Every morning the host has taken a special cake for us and He was always there for every need. Amazing location, very hospitable host Maria greeted us with her two daughters and provided a lot of help during the days we were there. They gave us very good suggestions and little gifts as well. Maria also gave us a little tour to see some of the other guest rooms that were built into the mountains with the stones as their natural walls. All the rooms look fantastic, and the view on the balcony was amazing. It was truly a pleasure to be hosted by them.

Walking distance to the port, restaurants, car rental, and a beach. There is a bus that runs sparingly around the island. However, if you want to be adventurous and find historical sites, amazing little towns and hit up the remote nude beaches, you will need a car. In October I paid €60 cash to rent a car for three days. No deposit, no insurance… just a hand shake. It felt like stepping back in time.

EXCELLENT value for money.

EXCELLENT value for money. Host so caring and intetested in his guests. The corner restaurant was very good for an evening meal and the gyros place was great value for money..Bakeries wonderful.You must visit Chora but check where the bus stops to return to port.

if you think Santorini is a bit busy and crowded then head to this island for a bit of the feel of how Greece was 30 years ago With excellent restaurants and secluded beaches ( but you are going to need to hire a car or motorbike although the distances you travel a short , from Katapola to far north 30 min and to the far south 30 min and some of the most spectacular drives you will experience anywhere

Katapola is very convenient because the port is there.

Katapola is very convenient because the port is there. It is recommended if you are going to rent a car, because there is easy access to Chora and the rest of the island. It is a quiet place and has a lot of Tavernas. "Mouragio" is recommended for fresh fish. The salad with Xinotiron is a must try in Amorgos. Xilokeratidi is a nice long walk from Katapola (maybe 15 minutes) , where one can enjoy the sunset. Enjoy your cocktails at "Fata Morgana" and an amazing pulled pork sandwich. "Yukali" on the other hand offers fresh mussels and seafood pasta topped with excellent service. If you like a long hike continue your walk from Xilokeratidi to Agia Paraskevi for the sunset. It is amazing.

Quieter than other big islands and still plenty of good...

Quieter than other big islands and still plenty of good restaurants, rental properties and cars available. An unexpected extra was live music in a garden setting just steps from our lodging on the hillside above the port. Recommend renting a car and seeing other parts of Amorgos as well. I have been to the island twice and would go again!

Katapola is quiet and charming with a good selection of...

Katapola is quiet and charming with a good selection of restaurants around the picturesque harbour. We visited at the end of May when it wasn't busy and the island's landscape was greener and dotted with colourful wild flowers - an ideal time for walkers.

When we arrived was great with a lovely smile she showed us few room because we wanted one with a kitchen and took tha one it had a beautiful view of the sea , second the host had a BBQ doing fish we had that it tasted delicious,the host are very friendly welcoming and polite definitely coming back next year lived it in katapola.

The studio is very pretty, as seen on pictures, and has a great balcony. It’s spotless and the owners are very kind and quick to reply. Well located in Katapola for buses, port, etc. Had a great stay, would absolutely stay again!
