Nice beaches, nice vibes, beautiful buildings/architecture, nice strolls and walks, several cultural and historic references, nice restaurants, friendly people, perfect for a short getaway from Athens. Transportation is tricky though, the only working option is a scooter that needs to be booked much in advance. The lovely authentic town but mainly the lovely authentic people made Spetses special. Take a horse and carriage ride, visit Marina beach (paradise beach) eat ice cream, swim and swim some more! Spetses is a very relaxed island with a picturesque port and lots of nice restaurants and cafes. The beaches are good however unless you have transport there it can be difficult to get to beaches as there is an erratic single private bus service. They've been recently modernised, the bathrooms are nice, yes it's a three star hotel so no top luxury but really comfy. The breakfast was nice, and the lady serving it deserves a special mention for her friendliness - she even taught me Greek!
