    It is very expensive to eat out, so you will need to shop around. If you stay away from the restaurants with a view, you can see a big difference in the prices if you go a street or two below for the same food. Bring runners with you as you will do alot of walking and the paths are not great so no heels. Beware of roads as they do not have the same rules (no rules) as your own country.

    Fira is a great town full of varied shops and fantastic places to eat. It can be expensive so plan a little extra money for food though! There are plenty of things to do an see in the town and the public transport to other areas of the island are quite frequent and cheap. There are lots of steep inclines and stairs so keep that in mind, you'll be doing a lot of walking up hills

    Despite being after peak season it was crowded, noisy, traffic jams quite frequent and pricey. We returned after 20 years to discover that it’s not a place for vacation any more. It’s amazing that the municipality did nothing to improve roads or sidewalks which are almost non-existent so tourist and locals are mixing with cars and bikes.

    You have to be prepared for what is a very hilly town.

    You have to be prepared for what is a very hilly town. The worse times are when the cruise ships arrive, that’s when it’s worth visiting other parts of Santorini. Get the timing right and Fira offers many first class Greek restaurants. Those without views over the Caldera are often more affordable.

    Young-ish destination.

    Young-ish destination. A few nice spots and restaurants but it did feel a bit student/ backpacker-y for us (a couple in our late 20s) We did a trip to Oia which was busy busy for sunset but the general vibe felt a but more grown up and typical Santorini.

    Fira is a fun place to stay - it does get busy when the cruise ships are in, but not nearly as packed as Oia. It's still got great views and is photo worthy - although not quite as stunning as Oia. HOWEVER it's amazingly place for exploring the island - taxis are very expensive on Santorini, so being able to take the cheap and reliable busses from the main bus station in Fira to get to key places around the island was a really cost effective and efficient way to get around.

    It's an amazing property at the heart of Fira, Santorini, very close to the major attractions, market area etc. Hotel staff was amazing and very kind to us. Special mention and thanks to Margo at the front desk, really helped us a lot with the information regarding the locations to visit. it was my wife's birthday during the stay, the hotel staff left us a very kind note and a bottle of wine to celebrate. I've been very fond of the hospitality of Greek people. Overall an amazing stay and highly recommended property to stay.

    Everything was perfect. Everyone from hotel staff was so kind and helpful - especially a guy from reception - Vaggelis. They managed everything what we needed, they even managed our very specific tasks. Anessis is a great place Where to stay while you are in Santorini - they have everything u need, it is really close to center of Fira and big plus is privacy - tourists cant see you in the pool while you are out of summer shape.

    The property was ideally located just off the main streets of Fira, the central town of Santorini. A quick walk to the central points meant it kept the hotel nice and quiet and relaxed feeling. The staff at reception were superb, super helpful with great suggestions and very friendly, a real great example of Greek hospitality. The view of the east side of the island from the back of the property for sunrise.

    If you’re looking for a good value for money in Santorini island this is the spot! Although its a bit far from the center or Fira but they provide free shuttle rides from the hotel to center and let me tell you they were always on time! The rooms were clean and you even get a small balcony with it!
