FAQs about hotels in Budapest

A City of Two Halves

With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.

Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it has the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.

Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try them than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.

To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur and, based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.

With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels available in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes it an easy choice.

Due to our problem with sunny bright hotel, my entire trip was ruined. Didn't have time to do much sightseeing seeing. The people can be unhelpful if u do not speak the language. The metro and bus is good. The photos of sunny bright hotel has been uploaded below. Budapest is beautiful, bit expensive. Changing money can be expensive due to extra taxes. I wish I had enjoyed it more.

There are so many interesting and beautiful things to see, gardens, buildings, monuments, churches and of course the river. This is our second time in Budapest this time either side of a river cruise two days is certainly not enough to appreciate it.

Budapest has so much to see that you’ll feel you need at least a week to see it properly. Hospitality and public transport are both quite good. Shared cab drivers are also very good. Most people speak reasonable English except for some really old fellows who probably don’t like so many tourists anyways , lol. Some back alleys can feel unsafe after 9 p.m. and the overall the city feels like it needs some TLC but a good place to visit nonetheless.

An awesome city, exceeded my expectations by far. Too many fantastic places to visit in one week. Excellent public transport. Watch YT travel guides before you go, I recommend Stuffed Cabbage Adventures channel. Don't miss the new Museum of Ethnography.

The city is beautiful, but people are quite self conceited.

The city is beautiful, but people are quite self conceited. Very bad impression of staff at the Buda History museum - ladies at the desk were contemptuous and tried to scold us. Of course, it was in vain and got a stern response from me with a subsequent refusal to buy tickets on our part.

From the moment we checked in, Budapest and Emerald Luxury Suites rolled out the red carpet. Our hotel, a haven of spotless serenity nestled near the heart of the city, set the tone for a seamless stay. Mornings began with panoramic strolls along the Danube, afternoons were spent admiring architectural gems like the Parliament and Fisherman's Bastion, and evenings unfolded aboard a river cruise beneath twinkling bridges. Local Hungarian delicacies and chimney cake-induced bliss added flavor to the experience, while the hotel's prime location made every adventure effortless and its immaculate rooms a true delight.

Went for 3 nights in January and it was absolutely great, it exceeded our expectations. As this was not our first trip to Budapest, we didn't want to stay in the city centre. I consider the hotel has a great location, as it is near the metro/bus/tram station. The cost for 3 night was incredible, the room was clean and had a minimalist design, the reception staff was super friendly and helpful - we asked for a room change due to the noise and in a few minutes it was done.

We are a couple from Noway that stayed from thu-mon. Very nice hotel. Must be a pretty new hotell. Very good breakfast. Location is good and central close to the Opera wich is nice to use as a reference point. Metro to Széchenyi bath is close. Just use the opera station. Not far to walk down to city centre. Or use a kickbike. If we go back to Budapest we would probably use this hotel again.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. The rooms are huge, and brilliantly decorated. Hotel is centrally located, and although city centre in the busy Pest side of the city, the windows were quad insulated - no noise whatsoever. Staff were excellent, and overly helpful. Genuinely fantastic hotel. I will return to this hotel when I return to Budapest in the future for work or holidays.

It's a great hotel if you are coming to Budapest by car since it has ample parking space, and if you plan on driving to the city centre. It's a clean, comfortable hotel at a good price.
