Unfortunatly the roads are worse and worse in Hungary. Gyula it’s beatiful, in the autumn you can make great photos. I’ve found very neat and cozy restsurants such as Varkonyi bistro, was always full with guests, the food was very tasty, serving 1st class. They have a cookie shop named The 100 years old cookie shop, but was under renovation who knows till when, that was bit sad, I always visit it.Guest review byMartaRomania - 8.0

Visited Gyula Aquapark for 2 days. I can say that it was nice but seems like they try to charge you for everything: * 1.5 EUR/person city tax; * parking near Aquapark about 8 EUR/day Monday-Sunday. Food & drinks pricy compared to similar Aquaparks (Szeget, Mako, Timisoara). Long waiting time at restaurant queue (restaurants with no waiters or waitresses). Nice town with history. Clean, people were nice. I loved that everyone was biking, bike roads were everywhere, the people seem to be friendly and know how to spend a good evening. A great small town with fantastic spa and the second oldest...
A great small town with fantastic spa and the second oldest cukraszda in Hungary but first in taste to money ratio. Dobos torta and Chokolate Mousse is a must. But not together please... Gyulai famous kolbasz and Bekes palinka finish it all. Enjoy! Last but not least the castle and the small picturesque streets close to Varfuerdo. The room was nicely furnished, spacious enough for two adults, a toddler, and a baby. Everything was clean, which we really appreciated. Having the hotel directly connected to the water park with unlimited access was a big plus for us as a young family. Our toddler loved the playroom, and both kids enjoyed the water park.
