    The area he’s like Bali 40 years ago. You are better off staying at a resort on the northern end of the beach, they are beautiful clean and with excellent food and staff, and away from the mosque. Eco Taste, Dimpil Beach Bar, Wrung Rama, The Sage excellent places to eat with cheap healthy fresh food. The Taman, Sari resort & Amertha Resort also have excellent food but more expensive.

    It was quiet and peaceful, away from the busy southern parts of Bali. The downside is it takes 4 hours due to traffic leaving the south and slow moving traffic heading up into the mountains due to winding, narrow roads.

    the town was pretty dead and that's what we liked most - chilled out. cost of everything is about 30% cheaper than Canggu for the same or better food/coffee/etc. We ate at Eco-Taste, The Sage, Lakawi and none disappointed. We also regrettably ate at a warung that made very white-washed Indonesian food -- It was some of the worst food we've had in Bali but it didn't stop the place from being packed with old white tourists - to each their own. In general, it's diving/snorkeling and the same vibe but not touristy like Amed. It's a part of Bali that still hasn't given in to mass tourism. It's what Bali was like 10 years ago.

    Pemuteran is a great place to visit away from the maddening crowds of Kuta and Seminyak. If you want a more traditional Bali experience with great food and beaches and no crowds, then Pemuteran is for you.

    It is very quiet in May. I read, swam and slept for a week.

    It is very quiet in May. I read, swam and slept for a week. Delicious food at a variety of small cafes close by. Completely recharged my batteries. There was plenty of diving, although I didn't go, there were also trips to the national park advertised. I will go again when I need a restful break.

    Would recommend visiting Pemuteran particularly if you enjoy snorkelling, Tirta Sari staff are very kind and helpful. Enjoyed the beautiful massages that are available and the food in the onsite restaurant is freshly cooked to order and delicious Swimming pool and gardens beautiful way to relax and take in tranquil ambience of Tirta Sari

    Stayed in December with two adults and a 12 and 16 year. We stayed in the Butterfly room. Look no further Taman Sari is in the best location in Pemuteran. Right on the beach and a short walk to restaurants and a great spa. This resort has everything you need if you are the type to just want to stay in and not venture out. We snorkelled out the front of the hotel and loved having breakfast on the beach each morning. Pemuteran is as I remember Bali 30 years ago and is worth the 5 hour car trip to get there.

    Everything was excellent, from the incredibly lovely and thoughtful staff, the air con, mosquito nets for the bed, to the beautiful outdoor bathroom, the comfortable beds, the lovely pool, well-decked shared kitchen and breakfast brought to your room. Everything was well thought of, you could order from the restaurant and have it brought to the nearby pool. If we're back in Pemuteran, we'll definitely be staying here again!!
