    This is a super area to stay in for exploring Galway and surrounding areas. The town has plenty of shops which would make a self catering stay a possibility if needed. We had a super meal in the Stone House Pizza bar at the old barracks….would highly recommend.

    The breakfast n evening meal at Raheenwoods were superb,the bed was our only fault it was uncomfortable for us,definitely recommend a visit,don't take my word,visit the hotel,experience the hospitality you'll definitely be back,they have the loveliest staff I ever came across,it has a lovely leisure centre that I didn't get to visit,next time though I'll be in it😊

    The castle was lovely and the heritage center was a lot of fun and very informative, there are some lovely restaurants, we ate in the old barracks food was delicious and we got some lovely cakes to take away. We stayed in the Raheen woods which is a very family friendly hotel. Athenry has a train station and is only a fifteen minutes trip to Galway city

    I loved everything about the place only thing that needs looking at is the bar menu I had the chicken burger I asked was the chicken fresh I was so looking forward to fresh chicken breast burger Especially for the price I would expect fresh not frozen

    The staff in all areas of the hotel were exceptional, warm and friendly, helpful and efficient. Best hotel experience we've had in a long time and we are avid travellers. The hotel was immaculate, modern with a warm welcoming feel. Food was excellent. Family friendly with plenty of activities onsite and locally and just a stones throw from Galway city .

    We had a nice time here .

    We had a nice time here . The heritage centre is worth a visit. For 5 euro you get to go on a tour and learn lots of the history of Athenry in a fun and interesting way ,you get to wear costumes and you get to do archery and a maze. Such a lovely experience. There's also a castle and an Abbey to visit . Great playground for children. The food in the restaurants and pubs was just gorgeous. The people were friendly and nice. Definitely will return again.

    Everything about this hotel was outstanding. The room was updated and modern; well maintained and cared for. The staff was courteous and friendly. I knew that if I had any concern or need that they would meet it. The restaurant was excellent. We had both lunch and breakfast and the food was at the top of our trip to Ireland. You need to make this a stop even just to have dessert. I highly recommend this as a stop to take in the history of Athenry. Look forward to a return

    Breakfast was very good! Room was a good size for a young family. Two (comfortable) good-sized double beds, but one double and two singles would have been preferable… Didn’t have dinner at the hotel, but other guests suggested it was very good 👍 Lester Mc., the “main man” and an old friend was as personable and engaging/engaged as ever. Top man! 👨

    lovely hotel. very welcoming. staff we are very efficient and friendly. the hotel is exceptionally clean. couldn't fault the room, staff, facilities. the food available is of a high standard. used the spa facilities, friendly service and great facilities.
