Cahersiveen is a very charming little town.
Cahersiveen is a very charming little town. We came down from Galway, and it is much smaller with fewer pubs and restaurants. The major appeal of this town is it's proximity to gorgeous attractions like Valentia and Skellig island, and being right along the Ring of Kerry. I highly recommend staying near Cahersiveen as your base point if you plan to explore the Ring of Kerry, and if you have a rental car and are comfortable driving on smaller back roads. Strongly recommend Franks Bar and Bistro for food and drinks. Be sure to check out the castle and fort that are very close to the town!Guest review bygallagher - 8.0

A lovely town in a great location for visiting the Ring of Kerry. Plenty of nice walks, climbs, beaches and fantastic scenery. Kells beach and Kells Bay and Gardens are close by as is the lovely pilgrim walk up Cnoc na dTobar. A good base to visit Valentia Island. Plenty of historical interest including the old Workhouse and Daniel O Connell's birthplace. A great place to base yourself for travelling around this stunning part of Ireland. Lots of beautiful beaches, Towns and villages to explore, food lovers this is your paradise and if you love fresh fish and crustacean 🦞 there is no better place to be every bar and restaurant will delight your tastes bud's. So take b out your map and b play pin the tails on the donkey, you won’t regret it. Lovely friendly town with a few pubs ( although less than was open on our last trip). Music in some of the pubs and one which was full of locals and pleasant to sit and chat in. What a great little town.
What a great little town. What’s even better is that you can just head to the Ring of Skellig, which is breathtaking. So glad it was a cloudy day because we got the fog nestling into the hills. The contrast of the landscape in terms of colors was amazing. I would have done another loop just to see it all again! We will be back.Guest review byMattUnited States
