Drogheda is much bigger than I expected.
Drogheda is much bigger than I expected. It’s very spread out and was quite congested with traffic when I was there so maybe a little difficult for driving if unfamiliar with the area. It is a very old town with lots of history and old buildings and has short distances to nearby beauty spots. Booking & check in were easy & efficient. The room & breakfast were excellent, Hotel nicely situated & grounds very pleasant. Easy ot get a cab with Uber app (or other apps - it is all the same taxis so no difference in price). The train station is a 10-15 min walk, easy to take a train to Dublin or Belfast. Als main busstation is just 10 min walk (if you don;t have too muach heavy luggage). All appliances worked and the hosts send us a pdf with all instructions, which made it easy and efficient. The staff are excellent, and the period decor is beautiful and elegant. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was powerful.
