We might have done a better job at researching what boat or...
We might have done a better job at researching what boat or land tours would be available. We had hoped to take a boa trip under Slieve Liege cliffas and maybe a day tour to Gleneveagh National Park or Inishowen. There was a small tourist info building, but it did not open until Monday. The helpful man behind the counter seemed to indicate that once the last cruise ship visit of the season was gone, things quieted down quite a bit. It was rainy and windy most of the time. We did take a local link bus out to Glencolumbkill; weather was damp and windy, but we enjoyed the ride and had a nice lunch at a cafe, and got some business done at the post office. So the stay was a little disappointing, but, as I said, we might have done a little more research before we went. We did meet some great locals waiting for the bus, etc. and had some great chats. Our first 8 days in Ireland, travelling with family who could only stay 7 nights was a smashing success!! Visited Slieve League, Assaranacha Falls, Mahera beach and caves, the Glengesh Pass, glen columcille, The Rusty Mackerel and The Boathouse in Killybegs, Donegal Town and The smugglers creek in Rossnowlagh . Killybegs is a fishing town with a beautiful harbour with restaurants offering very tasty fresh fish dishes daily, and lovely bars if you fancy a tipple, the people are so nice and always have time for a chat. This is a great little town and its growing.

The room was clean and spacious with en suite. Not every room has an en suite but bathrooms are available and they’re very clean. Cormac was so friendly and reassured us on any queries we may have while also recommended many dinner spots and things to do. Irina was very friendly on arrival and overall loved this stay.
