We really enjoyed our stay at Om Shanti. It felt like a little oasis and the setting is beautiful. We slept really well, enjoyed the views from the balcony and chatting to Santosh, the host. He is a great guy and helped us with any little question we might have had. Staying in North Hampi rather than South was definitely the right decision.

We can't recommend this place enough! On our journey there we struggled with directions, and Mani (who speaks excellent English) assisted us by booking us an Auto from the nearby town that we got off and even spoke to the bus driver to coordinate it for us!! The whole time he and his family made us feel completely at home. It is an absolutely beautiful homestay with a garden courtyard where we enjoyed our breakfast (delicious and included in price!) every morning. The room was really large and the bed was comfy, and though the facilities were basic they were all we required. We ate dinner there 2 nights in a row as the Thali was delicious and so much cheaper than other local options. Staying on the northern side of the river was the best choice.... the village was so friendly and chilled. Don't bother hiring bikes or motos.... you can catch the short boat or ferry trip over and get to most of the temples easily on foot or by Auto. We loved our stay here and only wish it was longer!
