We loved our stay there. The place, the landscape - could not be better! We were welcomed by nice staff and a super cute cat. Felt at home at breakfast, it was very cozy with good, tasty options as well.

This idyllic and charming guesthouse brings warmth to the soul. The staff are super friendly and gracious hosts. The food is simple yet perfect. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. The smell of breakfast wafted out the kitchen and down to my room, I was rewarded with perfect crispy streaky bacon, soft scrumptious scrambled eggs, generous slices of dill marinated salmon, real ham, crispy pain au chocolat and traditional Icelandic nibbles. Dinner was the most incredible fish, doused in breadcrumbs and fried, served with baby rosemary potatoes and a real tartar sauce. On the second night I had the pasta with vegetables and tomato and lamb which was a simple home-cooked dish. The room was warm, the bed excellent, and the location out of this world. Staying here meant morning and evening strolls to the waterfall without bud loads of others around.

The room was modern and comfortable with a luxurious feel, the hotel was very quiet when I visited so very peaceful and the hot tub was always free. Beautiful setting up in the mountain looking over the water and town below. On a clear night I could see the northern lights very well from right outside, although they’re easy to miss if you’re looking for green lights.. they actually look more like clouds until you look through a camera! The hotel is a 45 min walk from the Forrest lagoon (highly recommended and also the burger van in the car park!) and a 1.5 hour walk from Akureyri centre, it’s a beautiful walk if you’re able, plus I saw seals and a humpback whale en route. I really enjoyed my stay here, really good value for money and I would deffo recommend.

The property is stunning and the location is brilliant. The house was gorgeous, authentic, modern and sleek. We were so impressed with the beauty of the place, with delightful touches at every turn. An oasis of calm. Wish we could stay longer. If you are in the area, stay here... you won't regret it.

the location was perfect for us - we didn't have breakfast... we are not breakfast people. The room was perfect, the bed was really comfy and all the cutlery, plates and stuff for cooking was perfect. Thank you - we'll come again :-)
