We chose October to avoid the crowds.
We chose October to avoid the crowds. It was very pleasant and quiet not very touristy. It’s easy to get around on foot to many eateries and transport via train and buses to other locations. I did not find the local beach very interesting/ attractive and for that reason I would not return for a longer stay. Not much of interest for younger travellers. No parks within walking distance. Ideal for short stay 2-4 days. No car needed around the town but to access beaches you do need it. Parking is a definite problem.Guest review bySandraIreland - 8.0

Laid back seaside town. Cafe Mada near the station serves beautiful baked snacks (peanut free) and quality coffee at good prices. The Appian Way columns were an impressive sight. Brindisi is a good place to stay.
Brindisi is a good place to stay. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants and the waterside is very pleasant. It is an ideal base to explore Puglia as the transport links are good. Brindisi is a small city but with a beautiful waterfront. There is not that much to do there and a three day visit is probably enough. We took the train to Lecce which is a forty minute journey and enjoyed that but were glad to return to Brindisi and its waterfront. We found Betty's restaurant at the waterfront which had a good menu and provided excellent food at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit. Brindisi is a lovely seaside town - it's not full of tourists and has a nice feel to it. There are many restaurants with good local food. Damiano in particular was extremely helpful and provided excellent service. The room was clean, comfortable and a good size with a great view of the old town and harbour. Bonus that we could open the windows for some fresh air and sea breeze! Breakfast was also delicious! It is a bit too far to walk to the old town however there are buses and taxi’s.
