This is a small town with a lot of history.
This is a small town with a lot of history. The walk from the train station to the waterfront takes about 20 minutes and is very easy. At the waterfront, there are a ton of restaurants. There were no ticky tacky shops that we saw but there are peddlers who are allowed to come into the restaurants to sell their trinkets. We chose October to avoid the crowds. It was very pleasant and quiet not very touristy. It’s easy to get around on foot to many eateries and transport via train and buses to other locations. I did not find the local beach very interesting/ attractive and for that reason I would not return for a longer stay. Not much of interest for younger travellers. No parks within walking distance. Ideal for short stay 2-4 days. No car needed around the town but to access beaches you do need it. Parking is a definite problem.Guest review bySandraIreland - 8.0

Brindisi is a good place to stay.
Brindisi is a good place to stay. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants and the waterside is very pleasant. It is an ideal base to explore Puglia as the transport links are good. Brindisi is a small city but with a beautiful waterfront. There is not that much to do there and a three day visit is probably enough. We took the train to Lecce which is a forty minute journey and enjoyed that but were glad to return to Brindisi and its waterfront. We found Betty's restaurant at the waterfront which had a good menu and provided excellent food at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit. Sort of appartment equipped with kitchen and jacuzzi. Very spacious, with every necessary feature for a traveller and coffee lover. It was our relief on a very hot day in Brindisi. Hotel staff was more than helpful and arranged our "travel breakfast" for the next day, when we had to depart at the barbaric hour of 5:30 a.m. Taxi was also arranged. No need for a car, we took the bus from and to the airport and the train station is less than a ten minute walk to go to Lecce or to the beach.
