We loved pretty much everything about this hotel. The location was perfect, with a private, not crowded beach in Lugano Lake, two swimming pools that were perfectly clean and well-prepared for the guests, and great service and food. I think it was also great value for money

We had a great time at Corte Santa Hotel. Very clean and cosy room. The host is very reliable, friendly, and helpful 🙂 she recommended us a few places to have dinner at, and so we had a fantastic evening with local food and great wine.

Beautiful family hotel on the shores of the lake. The room was cozy with a balcony and a view of the lake. The morning swim in the lake was an experience. The staff was nice, friendly and helpful. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was delicious. The only minus was the breakfast - a bit small menu, despite this the hotel has my highest rating and I highly recommend it.

Our stay at Hotel Funicolare was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The location is incredible – perched high above, it feels like you’re among the gods when you look out your bedroom window. The views of the lakes and mountains are breathtaking, the kind you’ll never forget. The accommodation is spotless, with spacious rooms and large balconies perfect for sitting out, soaking in the scenery, and planning your day. Everything worked perfectly, and the cleanliness of the hotel was second to none. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Every single person we met was warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. They enjoy their work, which speaks volumes about how well the hotel is managed. The management team was also fantastic – attentive and genuinely committed to ensuring guests' best possible stay. The on-site restaurant was another highlight. It offered excellent value for money, a wide menu selection, and always fresh and delicious food. Breakfast deserves a special mention—it was generous, varied, and absolutely fantastic, enough to set you up for a full day of exploring. The hotel also has a rich history tied to the old funicular railway, which adds a fascinating layer to your stay. Talking with staff and seeing touches of this history around the property made the experience even more unique. Practical details were just as impressive: there’s plenty of secure parking for cars and motorbikes, and the location is excellent for exploring the region. With a car, we could easily reach Lake Como, Switzerland, and the surrounding villages, each full of charm, restaurants, and cafés. The roads in the area are well-maintained and made for enjoyable drives. All in all, Hotel Funicolare is absolutely brilliant. Whether travelling as a family, a couple, or solo, it’s the perfect place to stay. The value for money is outstanding, the comfort and cleanliness are faultless, and the atmosphere is second to none.

    I was just running there in the mountains.

    I was just running there in the mountains. Eat in some places on the route. Very much enjoyed views from the Monte Pasquella, Costone, di Lenno, di Tremezzo, and Generose. Everywhere went by legs. Please, note that you need to raise your hand to stop the bus :) I also visited Ristorante Hosterietta which was the only open place nearby - simple, but satisfying.

    Peaceful and scenic location a couple hundred meters above lake Como. It takes approximately ten minutes by bus to reach Argegno the nearest lakeside village. Perfect place to explore the lake and its surroundings.
