Giarre and neighbouring Riposto are unspoilt small towns...
Giarre and neighbouring Riposto are unspoilt small towns with few tourists. We were the only foreigners wherever we ate. La Tavernetta was our favourite. The seafood market in Riposto was a perfect source for the meals we cooked in our suite. Driving in Sicily is fun as long as you copy the locals. It's a small town by the sea...
It's a small town by the sea... It's not very "touristy" but it's a perfect base to visit Taormina, the etna, Catania. Overall I would say it's more convenient then charming! Giarre is not a great tourist attraction.
Giarre is not a great tourist attraction. However it is a great center for touring East Sicily. We found it very strange that Sicilians keep to their siesta even in winter. After sunset when it got very dark and a bit cold, we did not feel like going to a restaurant (they open at 6 or 7). So we cooked our dinners. Good for us, bad for them.Guest review byCsabaHungary

I especially liked the high ceilings and the paintings there. There was enough place for 5 persons in this accommodation. There were 2 bathrooms, a kitchen with the most important tools, a beautiful living room with television and three bed rooms. The restaurant serves delicious breakfast and dinner, lunch is available also at pool side. The active Etna could be seen puffing whilst we were relaxing at the pool.
