Manfredonia is a town with a pleasant sea port area that is popular with the locals and holidaymakers for evening eating, drinking and the "passegiata". This part of the Gargano peninsular is popular with the Italians for its (in my opinion) awful bathing beaches. Not too much else to do. However, from Manfredonia you can make a trip up an incredible winding road to Mont S'Angelo — a town with an ancient pilgrimage cathedral and castle, commanding a magnificent view of the bay. We got there by the local service bus (try Google maps for the latest timetable) but this is tricky without Italian. Manfredonia also has a Michelin guide restaurant — Osteria Boccolicchio — where we had an excellent lunch for a relatively reasonable price.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 6.0

The City has a beautiful historical center. Nice stores and restaurants. During summer time is very busy and hot. If you are looking for a magical special weekend for two or family, this in not the perfect place. The local beach is completely booked and all beach clubs don't have space for everybody. Manfredonia is geographically positioned on a flat surface with no trees and mountains. Summer can be very hot and humid even at night. No fresh breeze .Guest review byFabiana - 10.0

It's also pretty easy to park a car close by. Have to pay for parking but it's cheap. There are 2 bathrooms so very convenient. And the kitchen is well equipped. The host is also helpful. We could drop our luggage earlier than check-in time. It's also close to the port where there are ferries to Tremiti Islands. The boat was clean and comfortable and there was a small but pleasant deck for sitting out to enjoy the evening sunshine.
