Excellent hotel in a very convenient location (10 min max by foot from all attractions), easily accessible by car (near highway) and 7 minutes by foot from train station which made it a perfect solution for us since we visited many places in Tuscany either by car or train. The room was very well equipped and comfy, breakfast was excellent and the staff was very friendly. They helped us with many things (eg. advices regarding trains) and solved all our issues. The hotel also offers a dinner in their restaurant and there's a pool at the roof but we haven't tried it. They offer either private car parking for 8€ per night or a voucher to park anywhere in the city on public parking for 5€ per night. We chose the private one and it is in a closed yard (doors are being opened via pin) 50 meters from the hotel, with lots od trees so it's not in the sun. Also a space right in front of the entrance, where you can temporary leave your car to do check-in/check-out and carry your bags, is very convenient. If we decide to return to Montecatini (which is BTW the best place to stay if visiting Tuscany), we will be definitely staying at Boston again.

Wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly nice, friendly and welcoming. A special thank you to Nadisha and Gaetano for their detailed attention. Everything. Our stay was just as we imagined for a five-star hotel. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. There are numerous ways of how to adjust the lightning in the room. The surroundings of the hotel were full of trees, gardens and perfectly maintained lawns. Breakfast was exceptional, and the staff fulfilled our every wish. As we were mostly around in Tuscany during the day, we had dinner in the hotel as well. This was even better - three to four courses every evening on a beautiful terrrace, every course better than the other with very reasonable prices for a five-star hotel.

FAQs about hotels in Montecatini Terme

Tuscan Majestic Baths

Montecatini Terme has been known for centuries as one of the most famous spa towns in Italy. Located in the Tuscan province of Pistoia, the town started the process of building baths to contain the thermal waters at the foot of the Montecatini hill as early as in 1530.

The famous baths of Tettuccio, Bagno Regio and Terme Leopoldine were built in the 1770’s, during the rule of the Grand Duke of Tuscany Leopold of Habsburg-Lorraine. It was only at the beginning of the 20th century and after several changes of names that it started to gain fame as a popular resort.

New baths and spa hotels were built at Montecatini’s foothill, growing the quality of the services, and changing the conceptual approach. The baths were joined by Art Nouveau buildings, as well as a casino, theatres, restaurants and nightclubs. Famous intellectuals and artists of the time like Giuseppe Verdi and Luigi Pirandello could often be seen around.

It can be reached though both the Central and the Monsummano railway stations. Florence Airport is 47 km away, while Pisa Airport is 65 km away. Find the accommodation that best suits your needs on Booking.com and enjoy a sothing hooliday in Montecatini Terme.

We are hikers and rock climbers, the location was good for climbing in nearby Monsummano, Several Via Ferattas are within an hour or two drive. The restaurants are many and most are quite good, especially in Montecatini Alto. For those who like to shop, the main plaza has a plethora of sores, including high end shops.

A good base if your a bit more adventurous and don't mind travelling by train. For example Pisa and Florence are both reachable by train but include changing trains at various places. Montecatini itself is a little run down in places with all the spa buildings closed. A nice little town square where a few bars can be found. Montecatini Alto is a gem reached by a funicular railway and Lucca (40 mins by train) is well worth a visit.

This city is very walkable with large parks and green spaces. Lots of shopping available in downtown area. The walk to the funicular to Montecatini Alto was lovely and through a beautiful park. Alto offers beautiful views and some historic insights. Unless you are spending time at the thermal spas, or touring nearby local cities, 1 to 2 days would be plenty of time.

Vincenzo was a fantastic host who made our two weeks in Montecatini Theme a pleasure. The location is excellent for access to the station, parking and TermeLand for the kids. The breakfast was a very good European/Italian breakfast. Good coffee and freshly baked sweet croissants, and home baked lemon + cherry tart were a big hits with the kids. Each of the rooms had its own proper airconditioning which made the stay in 30-35c weather bearable.
