A small and very typical town at the foot of Vesuvius. The town has a wonderful atmosphere. A 15-minute walk to the beach. Nearby is a park and the ancient town of Ercolano. It was great to stay in this beautiful renovated appartment, very clean, everything new. It is a quiet spot in busy Torre del Greco, there was also a nice spot to sit outside. Torre del Greco seems to be a suburb of Naples and is ideal for people who want to cycle up Vesuvius! It is right under the volcano. Well priced food and pizza restaurants, lovely little centre, excellent ice cream, it was a less chaotic version of Naples and prepared us for the big city! It was a taste of the real Italy.
It was a taste of the real Italy. Few people spoke English, so our limited Italian was tested. As with many places of Italy, the place is 'gritty'. Breakfast was basic but good. Staff was very friendly and ready to help with everything. Bar located at the lobby opened almost always for quick drinks. Parking comfortable in hotels parking garage monitored with CCTV so you do not need to worry about the car. Hotel is well located next to the train station to take train right to Neapol.
