We chose the location because the city was among many other...
We chose the location because the city was among many other places we planned to visit but we could as well just spend the time lazy-making in the hotel area. There are some bars and (probably) more expensive restaurants serving local dishes. Worth mentioning, the hotel cooperates with international gastronomy and enology school next door. As the weather was challenging, we didn't manage to reach every place and we certainly return in the future with the greatest pleasure. The manager in the reception provided us with a handful of information about many other places we could visit, like Basilica Concattedrale di Santa Maria Salome, and other churche . The minuscule city of Veroli is very well maintained, compared to the others nearby. As far as distinctive places, there is a City Museum, and the most important artifact are so called Fasti Verulani - one of the very few original ancient Roman calendar tables done most probabaly at the times of Octavian Augustus' rule. There is also the newly opened Palazzo Marchese just a few steps from the Filonardi palace, where one may find a super informative exhibition concerning ancient peoples living in this part of Lazio before Romans came. In the nearby cities you have medieval frescoes in Anagni cathedral, another megalithic walls (Alatri), Renaissance palace (Trisoli), Cicero's birth place (Arpino).Guest review byIzabelaPoland
