This is a nice little town on the slopes of Etna and is especially convenient for visiting the Volcano. It is also close to the eastern coast of Sicily and its beaches whilst various tourist attractions are nearby. Perfect location to visit Etna, as it's in the middle between the south side and the north side of the mountain. Small town but has all necessary shops, excellent restaurants and a beach (we didn't visit the beach as we were there for Mount Etna). Our host was very helpful and since this was the first time we visited Sicily, we really appreciated her advices about the region. It is only a short drive to the village of Zafferana Etnea, where you can find everything you need. In our rental car, it took about 40 minutes to reach the house from the airport Catánia Fontanarossa. It was already dark but with a decent navigation system, you should not worry about getting to the house.Guest review byNicoBelgium
