Kanazawa is a very interesting place to visit. It has a similar charm as Kyoto, but with fewer crowds. We found it easy to get around the city by bus or on foot. We had 2 days here but could have stayed for 4 days or more.Guest review byElaineAustralia - 8.0

I don’t know if I needed to have stayed here. Or maybe it would have been better to come during a special time of year (firefly season or some festival). The castle area was also under construction. Kanazawa is a gem of a town.
Kanazawa is a gem of a town. We really enjoyed the Samurai quarter, it's quaint and not over-populated. Kanazawa castle is fantastic, and so is Kenrokuen garden. The museum of modern art is also compact and quite good.Guest review byGuyIsrael - 10.0

Having spent 10 days in Tokyo I was thrilled to arrive in Kanazawa (via bullet train) and notice straight away how it was "quiet"...less people on the streets, less humid (nice relief) and overall the city operated at a slower pace - a nice reprieve. Also, a great city to walk around - all of the tourist attractions, I think, are within a few miles so no need for buses / taxi's etc. I would highly recommend for a 2 day visit - not sure if more is required to hit the main tourist sites.Guest review byYvonneIreland

Many hotels have cut off services but Hotel Sanraku keeps the same services as before. They provide beautiful tea from Kanazawa, all the amenities in the rooms Also in the public bath area. Breakfast using the local Kutani yaki plates... Staff are kind and friendly. We love their hot springs. My mum has mobility issues but they kindly offered a wheelchair. Everything is comfortable, modern and clean. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming as you enter the reception and very accommodating to any requests we made for amenities. It was actually our honeymoon and they kindly upgraded us to the top floor with amazing views of Kanazawa. The bed is also very comfortable and we slept very well here.
