FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

Osaka is just another big city, like New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles. It doesn't quite offer the same Japanese charm that you feel in Kyoto, or even in some regions of Tokyo. The Dontonbori in the evenings is very busy, as is the Shinbashi Street Shopping District. There are tons of restaurants and shops. Expo 2025 was in progress, and although we were interested in attending, many people we met who had been there said it wasn't what they expected, with too many visitors on some days, reaching over 250,000. We did visit Universal Studios Japan, which was great, but the lines were anywhere from 60 - 120 minutes. Have patience if you choose to go!

    Osaka was a pleasant surprise.

Osaka was a pleasant surprise. We had been to Tokyo, Okayama and Kyoto and included Osaka because I was flying out from there. I regret not having spent more time here. If I had to plan another trip, I would skip Okayama and spend more time in Osaka.

We LOVED this city - lots to do, easy to explore lots of different parts of the city and my two children (14 & 12) and I really enjoyed our time here. The food is amazing and we'd thoroughly recommend going to Dotonbori and Kuromon Markets - DELICIOUS!

Osaka has changed quite a lot in the last 30 years. It's a bit overcrowded now with unrespectful tourists. Place like Namba area became very dirty. However, there are still a lot of remote location where to escape the noisy side of the city.

Excellent location right next to the train station – extremely convenient for traveling and especially great if you're visiting the Osaka Expo. It's also just about a 10-minute walk to Universal Studios Japan (USJ), which was a big plus for us. The onsen was a highlight: much larger than in typical Japanese hotels, and beautifully maintained. Despite being a large hotel, it was peaceful and quiet throughout our stay. We also appreciated the clean facilities and stunning views.

We liked the location of the hotel. There is also a supermarket in the basement that helped us buy food for our 1-year-old child and a station that connects to Osaka-Namba station which is very convenient. We also got a city view that is amazing at night. The rooms are spacious compared to the room sizes you see in Japanese hotels. It's also near Dotonbori. It is quiet at night, which is a plus plus point since we didn't have any difficulty putting our child to sleep.

The location is very near to Namba Station & close to the main attractions in Osaka (Namba/Dotonbori) city center. Loads of items provided in the room for use. The hotel emphasizes in ensuring customers feel comfortable to stay in room. Was surprised to see a very big bathroom. Bed was much better than other "Standard Room" (not deluxe) hotels. Will surely consider this hotel in future when I visit Osaka again!!

Fantastic location if you are wanting to stay close to Namba Osaka train station, as many tours and trains depart and arrive here. Minutes from Dotonbori and some amazing restaurants. We only stayed for one night with our family of 4, able to leave luggage at hotel's luggage storage while we shopped more check out. Staffed went above and beyond to help us. Remarkable team working at this location.
