Loved the location and the view from the room , the glass window made the room more beautiful and the ocean view was awesome. The restaurant was good and the food that we took for dinner was very delicious!, the staff took a lot of care .

What are delightful family stay. The pool was large, clean and with beautiful surroundings. The beds were comfortable. The hotel was very well located near Shimoda within walking distance or a very short drive to the town, a multitude of stunning beaches, and lovely hikes (walks) by the 7 waterfalls region. The washer/dryer was also quite reasonably priced at 100-200 yen per wash or dry. I wished we could have stayed longer. Of note, this is one of the few pools in the area that was open so early before the Jspanese summer holiday. We went in early July.

Everything, view, interior design, facilities, grill table outside and all the little details toiletries to supplies tea/coffee. You literally can turn up with just clothing. Having washing facilities is super useful for families. Beach in walking distance! Kind and friendly staff. A lovely vacation :-)

We have never experienced this kind of luxury in our lives….. this place and environment totally blew our minds! We had te luxury to stay in the villa, and exceeded all our expectations. The views, the pool, the sauna, the hotspring tub, the fireplace, the BBQ… it was more than enough to really end our holiday totally relaxed! We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. Blessed🙏🏻 greets from oranda (the Netherlands)

    If you love beach Shimoda is best for you. You can enjoy the white sand and wide beach line. Sunshine and twilight views from the seashore ate so excellent The sound of waves, the feel of sand, and the sun create a soothing environment, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and stress relief. Restaurant nearby are very few and most of those restaurants closes early and operates only weekends and holidays so you have plan were to eat your meals beforehand.

    Shimoda is a super diversion away from the more popular...

    Shimoda is a super diversion away from the more popular tourist / visitor targets and a visit is thoroughly recommended. And the nearby beaches? The restaurant scene in the town is excellent with some of the best sushi we have ever had and with quality / freshness / prices that would be totally unbelievable in London or across Europe. Shimoda is a gem and long may it be so. So hopefully not too many take note of this review.

    I didn't spend a lot of time in the town centre and it...

    I didn't spend a lot of time in the town centre and it looked a.bit run down.The whole of Perry road area which is sighted as a tourist hotspot was pretty much closed up.Our big highlight was driving out to Iritashima beach which is absolutely gorgeous,.Fabulous pizzas on the beach at Fermentco.The drive back along the coast and over the mountains to Mishima is unique,if you are feeling confident with driving.

    It’s a convenient and cheap destination if you come from...

    It’s a convenient and cheap destination if you come from Tokyo. Was easy to reach just by train and it took only 3 hours. I didn’t sightsee much since i was mainly there for going to the beach and I wasn’t disappointed. I would definitely come back to explore more

    I like the ocean view.my kids enjoyed it so much. I was disappointed of food,unlike last year they serve a lot of food in our table during dinner time,compared now,self service and only few menus in there with the same price last year.😔😕

    The staff at this hotel were so friendly and helpful. They made our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The rooms were spacious, clean and well-maintained. The beds were very comfortable, and the amenities were great. The hotel had excellent facilities and was very convenient.

    Everything about the hotel was perfect. My favourite hotel I’ve stayed at in Japan - would come back to Japan just for the hotel. Exceptional room and view. Staff friendly and happy to help. Shuttle bus to and from train station great but only a 15 minute walk to town for restaurants. Great selection for breakfast, and whilst I didn’t have dinner the menu sounded amazing. Next time I stay I will come on the weekend to be able to try the afternoon tea. Gift shop in the hotel lovely too - got my favourite souvenir here.

    We loved our stay here - it is quiet this time of year which we liked and there were not many people at the beach, which was very clean and the water temperature perfect. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast supplied was perfect - especially the homemade bread they use for the sandwich -delicious. Also a big thank you Arkiko for driving us to Shimoda after we missed our bus one morning, first class and 5 star customer service. Thank you and we hope to visit again

    It has a great sandy beach below and it is ideal for all especially surfers. The room was very large offering fantastic views out to sea and down to the beach. There is a hotel shuttle bus taking us to Shimoda but we also caught a local bus not far from the hotel.
