We stayed here rather than on Naoshima island and took the...
We stayed here rather than on Naoshima island and took the short ferry across to the island. When we planned our trip, I had not factored in that many of the museums on the island were closed on a Monday and that some had to be booked for the Sunday. The benefit is that the onsen next to the Uno hotel is wonderful. You can be outside in one of the outside baths and at night gaze at the stars. We had a massage and a Japanese meal in the onsen and ambled happily back to the hotel. We delayed our planned departure to go the next morning after we had checked out of the hotel. We did not really explore the town itself but had a lovely meal in a restaurant close to the ferry building, overlooking the park and shopped in the big stores near the station.Guest review byBUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It’s a nice ryokan - close to the harbour and the train station. No staff - but it suits me well. Feels like my own apartment. Clean, simple but nice and cozy. They cleaned the room every day - I didn’t even expected this… if I ever come back to Tamano a m- and I hope I will because of the art islands around and the beautiful Onsen in Tamano - I will certainly try to stay in this ryokan againGuest review byNoaIsrael
