I enjoyed the delicious rice and curry for dinner. Located in a secluded area, the resort exudes tranquility. As a solo traveler, walking the quiet, unlit path was thrilling, providing a true escape. We were so lucky to be the first people stay at the beautiful mango garden villa! It was such an amazing place to stay as a group of friends but would be perfect for a family too. The owners were so lovely, generous and welcoming throughout our entire stay. The room is very clean, has a modern bathroom and the beds were so comfy (With a fan and AC!). Really good location for walking into habarana or a short tiki tik ride into Sigiriya. The balcony is a beautiful space to relax, watch the squirrels in the trees and admire the handy work of Dammika. The family helped us get around the local areas and cooked a beautiful breakfast and even a 5 curry dinner! (Which was soooo yummy❤️). If you are looking for a place to relax and feel at home after a busy day exploring and walking I would definitely recommend this villa and I hope I can come back myself!

Elephant Fence was fantastic! We highly recommend staying here. We got in late off a train from Colombo (~8:00pm) and the owners welcomed us and served us dinner at Chill & Grill (their adjoining restaurant). The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed and more (wifi, mini fridge and aircon). The accommodation is quiet and surrounded by nature. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here - it was so yum! We did a cooking class with the owners and would highly recommend you do the same!

“Woodland Sanctuary is a paradise! The wooden room was beautifully crafted, with a cozy ambiance that felt luxurious. The bathroom, made with natural rock, was a unique and calming space. Dudley and Maleesha treated us like family, ensuring we were always comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional, with fresh fruits and traditional Sri Lankan dishes. The pool was large and clean, and the garden was beautifully maintained. The views of the surrounding jungle added to the magical experience.”

I had an incredible stay at Pearl in the Jungle! The property is absolutely stunning, surrounded by lush greenery and complete with a private pool, which was so relaxing. The hospitality from Mr. Ajith and manager Sameera was top-notch—they were so friendly and helpful, arranging a fantastic safari and a tour of Habarana, Sigiriya, and Dambulla for us. The breakfast was delicious, and the dinner was even better. The peaceful jungle ambiance and beautiful design of the place made it a perfect getaway. Highly recommend this gem for anyone visiting the area!

We stayed in the Hotel Sundown Lake for two nights and we absolutely loved it. The service is very personalized and the hosts are very lovely people. Also the location is really nice. The rooms are super clean and the bathroom is outstanding. We had a variety of home cooked meals every night - the best food we had on our Sri Lanka Trip. We can recommend this place to 100% and like to say thank you for the well hosts and this amazing Hotel.

The hosts really were exceptional in the level of service they delivered, and the meals were outstanding. We felt part of the family, and nothing was too much trouble. The location and ambience really are something special, with beautifully kept herb and spice gardens in a quiet rural location. We had a lovely stay in a comfortable and spacious room, some fascinating visits to local points of interest, and relaxing time spent on our balcony and at the pool. We would thoroughly recommend staying here. One of the best places we've ever stayed.

    Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants...

    Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

    Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife

    There are loads to do in Habarana.

    There are loads to do in Habarana. Nice places to eat and drink. One unexpected pleasure was the village safari. You go for a ride on a old tractor, then a lovely boat ride across the lake. You are then shown the old traditional way of preparing and make food. Also shown other local crafts.

    We went to this area and stayed at the Cinnamon Habarana...

    We went to this area and stayed at the Cinnamon Habarana Village for 2 noghts. This gave us time to visit Pidirangula the rock opposite Sigiyeria Rock, Polonuwara ruins, Minneriya Safari parks and a couple of village tours to see how locaal live and eat. These village tours I would recommend as you get to try local curries made by the villagers which are authentic. Pidurangula is the same height as Lions Rock but a quarter of the price. The only thing you miss out on is seeing the ruins at the top of the ancient civilisation. Minneriya was fantastic. We did this as a last minute decision as we were advised there were more elephants here than in the Yala Safari park which we had already booked to visit in the south. We were so glad we did this as there were plenty of elephants to see and capture on camera. The ruins around this area are a plenty and definitely worth visiting as they are centuries old and date back to when Buddha came into the country. When visiting any ruins or temples men musat wear a sarong to cover their knees and women have to cover their shoulders and knees. Wearing t shirts and 3/4 linen trousers are ideal. We had a private tour guide with his car that we hired for an 8 day tour so he knew where to go, and came with us at each attraction. Would recommend touring Sri Lanka in this manner and using Madhu of Nesi Tours Srilanka. He is able to help with itineraries and pricing. We had a fabulous trip in this beautiful country with
