We absolutely love this place! The villa is stunningly beautiful and the service is top! The food, the concern for our children, just everything here is done lovingly and to a very high standard. We had a huge suite that you would definitely not expect for such a low price! We had asked prior if we could charge our EV, so they just installed a new power outlet for us! Being able to propose and discuss what we would like to eat is so nice - and the food is delicious! We will definitely come back!

The room and bathroom were spacious, well designed and impeccably clean -- we really appreciated the attention to details and the additional functionality offered by the daybed, the small desk, the armchairs as we were travelling with our tween and also had to do some work while on vacation. The pool was lovely - it is a good size and none of us had red eyes from chlorination. The beach the property opens onto is gloriously clean and we had it entirely to ourselves most of the time. The cafe served up delicious food but their menu offers only a few Sri Lankan dishes. At our request, the kitchen was only too happy to whip up Sri Lankan meals -- prawn and fish curries, traditional coconut sambol, dhals, gotukala salad, okra salad, ridge gourd in coconut milk, star bean stir fry, eggplant gojju, Sri Lankan pancakes with ice cream, watalapam .... these were by far the best meals we enjoyed during the entirety of our holiday and we would heartily recommend visitors to Lankavatara sample the Sri Lankan meals. The staff are very well informed and helpful and did everything they could to make our stay a memorable one -- from organising tuktuks, catamaran rides in the Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary and turtle watching or airport transfers.

I rarely write such long reviews, but this place is truly amazing - it is something between a 5-star hotel and a hip beach community hangout. The location beyond amazing - it is right on the beach and there is a freshwater lagoon right next to the property - you can go paddle-boarding or kayaking in the lagoon if you want, or if you prefer the ocean - go there. Or both. Getting to the hotel is fun - a very narrow road meanders through a lush forest and you think you are going to the end of the world, then you arrive at a stylish hotel with a lush garden right on the beach and a elegant stylish pool in the middle. The pool looks like an architectural accent, but it is actually a pool. The hotel is right on the beach - you can even have a table moved to the sand if you want for breakfast, lunch or dinner - or anytime actually. The food and cocktails at this hotel are like at a 5-star establishment. But the staff is friendlier:-) The menu is traditional Sri Lankan with a twist of different flavors - some European, some Malaysian, a bit of Thai and African. The food is excellent, the fish is locally sourced from the fishermen that are 50 meters away. All of the rooms face the ocean. The options are a room with your own very large balcony facing the ocean, or a ground level room with your own spacious patio facing the ocean. The beach is about a kilometer long - empty, no umbrellas, no vendors, no shacks - just fishermen going about their business. If you feel like talking to them (most barely speak English) you could. If not, just set up camp under the shade of the palm tree and you feel like on a deserted island. Once that gets old you can go back to the hotel - the food, the cocktails and the service put a 5-star establishment to shame! Zander is the most excellent and amazing host ever and has the sweet, friendly dog named Loki, who is a constant source of "cuteness" around. This is a magical place!

The staff was wonderful :) I got a bit sick at the beginning of the stay and the host very helpful and attentive with extra food and medication. Sri Lankan breakfast was fine, the hotel is walking distance to the nice beach, but far away enough from the main road, so it is not noisy. There are very nice restaurants near by. The room has a terase/balcony for drying towels, clothes, having a drink, etc.

I think this might be the best place I've stayed at in my travels, atleast in this price range. Staf are great, facilities excellent, garden pretty, location is out of the way but there is easy access by bike or tuktuk, pool is gorgeous and food is amazing (so no real need to go anywhere else). I really can't fault the place. Was sad to leave and would gladly come back. Highly recommended!

Amazing location as the property was in beach front, with a little gate giving access to the beach. Due to being low season we are the only guest but the quality of the stay was not impacted, and the host was amazing. Swimming pool is modern and it was clear even if it was just for us. The room was clean , spacious and air conditioning was powerful. We recommend the local breakfast with sea view. Lunch and dinner was not possible during our stay but host recommended us 'Priya Moon Cafe and Seafood Restaurant' located 500m away and it was so good we came back during the second night.

The rooms were spacious, and right on the beach. Just amazing! Close to the main street and multiple restaurants nearby.

Very nice place, nice garden, amazing Hobbit House. Everything was perfect. Very tasty and delicious breakfast. Very kindly and helpful host.

We absolutely loved our stay at simply peace. The place is so beautiful, clean, aesthetic and the staff is really friendly. A great plus is the outdoor gym which we used daily and is super well equipped. Overall I can highly recommend it for a relaxed, healthy stay.
