Our stay at the Rainforest Nest was amazing. The hosts are the kindest persons, and always smiling. Saman is a great guide, thanks to him we saw a lot of endemic animals! We definitely recommend going on a rainforest tour with him. His wife is an awesome cook. We loved their food and the couple was very accommodating. The room was clean, very lovely and with a stunning view on the mountains. We would definitely love to come back. It was an delightful time. Julie and Laurenz

Where to start? Hemal is such a such a kind guy and the best host you can imagine. It’s a new hotel so I was happy to be the first client. The hotel is at the entrance of the park and besides the great and spacious rooms as well as great food made by his wife, Hemal is an awesome forst guide that spots animals from a distance away! I did both the night tour seeing loris, scorpions, deer and snakes etc. (be silent while he’s spotting) as well as day tour with a.o. endangered monkeys and a beautiful waterfall. Also, from the terraces you can spot a lot of peacocks and other birds in the front of the stay. He also helped me arrange a taxi a good price back. 200% worth the visit!

We loved this place! The views were amazing and the atmosphere was peaceful and calming. We visited the Sinharaja Forest Reserve during our stay and our host did an amazing job by organizing the whole trip there, he made everything really easy for us. I would 100% recommend this place for anyone who wants a little getaway from the busy coastline and loves nature.

Amazing location in green area. We spotted several animals while just sitting on the balcony (including monkeys, peacocks and kingfisher). The owners are very friendly and helpful, they made our stay very comfortable.

The streak of perfect reviews seemed too good to be true - but make no mistake, this is one of the best homestays I’ve experienced in years. Location: Perfect, right in nature’s heart. Apartment: Beautifully built and spotlessly clean. Food: Some of the best I had in 4 weeks across Sri Lanka. Price: the price of the whole package is unmatched in the area. Don’t worry about the lack of nearby restaurants or supermarkets - you won’t need them. Staying here feels like being at your favorite family members, where every meal is a highlight. Prabath and his family treat hosting not just as a business but as their passion. Every morning, I woke up excited for the day ahead, with Prabath sharing his favorite hiking trails and passing down his family’s deep local knowledge. From the moment you arrive, they make you feel like an old friend. For three days, I was part of the village - Prabath’s friends became my friends. But don’t worry: your privacy remains their top priority. This is the definition of a hardworking family who takes genuine pride in sharing their home and heritage with guests. The forest tour that was organized by the owner was great, we requested for a short tour as our stay was short. Owner was good enough to accommodate our need, thanks. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and well versed in English. We loved the peacefulness when it hits dark, the hotel and surrounding were extremely quite, the only noises we heard were the insects and frog, we loved the serenity. Food was good and quick. We loved the location of the open restaurant, it was raining at the time, we got real rain forest experience. Rooms are spacious, clean and tidy. We loved the hospitality of the staff. There is nothing to complaint. We would definitely go there once again with kids when we can.
