The staff were extremely kind, accomodating and welcoming. The included breakfast was excellent, as were our other two meals from the restaurant. Our room was also comfortable, spacious and had fast wifi.

Owner gave us a nice birdwatching tour in the evening, they were always ready to bring us whatever we needed and when we came back they had fresh watermelon juice ready for us to enjoy. Besides that, the wife of the owner is an extremely good cook. To top things off, we even got the brand new room they had just finished. It also a great base of operations for day trips in to the fabulous Wilpattu park.

I believe this guest house is ideal for people doing a Wilpattu Safari: - it is located right next to the park entrance. - it is not luxurious, but who needs a luxurious hotel if you are going to spend the entire day on safari anyway? - the AC worked great, the bed slept well and it has an ensuite shower and toilet. - they were happy to supply lunch and breakfast for the safari, and prepare dinner as well. I ate very well there. - the hostess was very kind and happy to help with questions. - if you are lucky you may already spot some animals from your window! I saw a wild peacock and monkeys. But apparently elephants also sometimes roam through nearby fields.

Great location. Exceptional management and staff from a family run establishment. Warm and friendly reception. I was welcomed with a hug. Very tasty food. Amazing safari drive. Staying in Wilpattu Wildhideaway was truly an unforgettable experience. The highlight of my stay was the delicious traditional dinner served at the hotel. Anta expertly crafted local dishes that provided a delightful taste of Sri Lankan cuisine, showcasing the rich flavors and spices of the region. Additionally, the hotel's Safari experience was amazing. Anta provided valuable insights into the flora and fauna, making the safari not just an exciting journey but also an educational one. We observed sloth bear, monkeys, a lot of peacocks, other birds and lizards and buffaloes. It was unforgettable!

We had an unforgettable stay at this charming guesthouse in Sri Lanka - the hospitality was beyond exceptional, and every detail felt so thoughtfully curated. A great property in the forest right next to the road leading to Wilpattu (maybe 5 minutes from the entrance!). It is run by two charming ladies, who made sure everything was very comfortable for us, brought us fresh juices on our arrival, and allowed us to keep our luggage there for the entire day. The bed is very comfortable, the scenery is beautiful, and it is very well kept. A wonderful place to stay if you are visiting Wilpattu.
