The room and bathroom were spacious, well designed and impeccably clean -- we really appreciated the attention to details and the additional functionality offered by the daybed, the small desk, the armchairs as we were travelling with our tween and also had to do some work while on vacation. The pool was lovely - it is a good size and none of us had red eyes from chlorination. The beach the property opens onto is gloriously clean and we had it entirely to ourselves most of the time. The cafe served up delicious food but their menu offers only a few Sri Lankan dishes. At our request, the kitchen was only too happy to whip up Sri Lankan meals -- prawn and fish curries, traditional coconut sambol, dhals, gotukala salad, okra salad, ridge gourd in coconut milk, star bean stir fry, eggplant gojju, Sri Lankan pancakes with ice cream, watalapam .... these were by far the best meals we enjoyed during the entirety of our holiday and we would heartily recommend visitors to Lankavatara sample the Sri Lankan meals. The staff are very well informed and helpful and did everything they could to make our stay a memorable one -- from organising tuktuks, catamaran rides in the Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary and turtle watching or airport transfers.

This is such a special place and we loved the hotel. The staff were extremely attentive and the location is beautiful and very peaceful. We had some of the best food during our whole trip at this hotel - the chefs are amazing. We were so impressed by the attention to detail in the rooms, which were really well equipped. It was really the perfect balance - the rooms had the comfort and facilities of a much larger hotel, but with all the intimacy of a boutique experience.

Aruni and the Blue Ocean resort team were amazing from start to finish. We booked the ocean view room and it was so stunning that we decided to stay for a month. During that month, we got help from Aruni with booking lagoon tours, setting up a trip to both the safari parks that were nearby and a lot of other things. Whenever we needed tuktuks she would go out of her way to arrange it for us. One time I had to take a sick stray dog to the vet and she arranged everything with the vet and tuktuk to take me there, she even fed him and now he is there often and it was very sweet and she really did not have to do that. I cannot recommend Blue Ocean enough to anyone thinking about staying here. The beach is quiet and huge, there is so much wildlife nearby and there are a couple of restaurants nearby. Whenever we wanted to eat at the resort we would ask her in advance for some fish, lobsters and shrimp. On our last day they even had bbq which was very tasty. Thank you Blue Ocean team. We will definitely be back! And we already miss the two (now three haha) dogs Brownie, Emma and Cheese ball :D

Very nice stay at trendy house near Tangalle. It´s great experience to stay here. It´s designed for couples, but we stayed there with our small daughter. Nature near is very nice, lot of colorful birds, peacocks, and other animals. Beach is little bit far away (maybe 20-25 minutes walk). Breakfast was absolutely great, one of the best in Sri Lanka. Our host was very helpful and always smiling :)

We loved our stay at Omia. It was such a relaxing experience, we spent a lot of time on our deck overlooking the ocean. The waves were a bit too strong to swim in the ocean during the time we visited (end of the season), but it was still very nice to walk along the long stretch of beach.The Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner are very delicious! The WiFi is a bit weak in the rooms, but it might depend on the room you are in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Amazing experience, owner is most amazing lady you can imagine, and one of our best experience in Sri Lanka. Spotless clean room, very spacious, location just few steps from the beach. Very clean and modern hotel on a quiet road a bit outside of Udawalawe junction. It‘s beautifully furnished and has an amazing pool. Breakfast is delicious and the rooms are super comfortable.
