Everything at Amba Kola was exceptional - especially the people. Louise, Janik, and Janik’s whole family are the loveliest people you will meet. The food is fantastic - everything is locally sourced and prepared with the finest spices and lots of love (Janik’s mom is an award-winning cook by the way). At Amba Kola the hosts will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. They took us around in their safari jeep to see the elephants and wildlife and we even went swimming in the canal! The room (and the whole property) are lovely with so many personal touches to it. Louise is an artist and her art is present all over the place! Also, the outdoor bathroom is unique. I showered in the dark under the stars - an experience like no other. All I can say is: Come to Amba Kola and see for yourself. These people deeply care for what they do and it shows in every aspect. You won’t be disappointed!

A super and very large room with a lovely sit-out area. Thoughtfully furnished room- everything there and in the place you would expect it to be. A great pool. A great location- nature all around you and birds chirping and singing their hearts out. It's also close to the safari as well as the dam reservoir which is a decent small trip at sunset. Super help by the owner with the transport to the property and onward. And with the safari as well. Clear, concise and prompt communication gave confidence while planning the trip with kids. A nice restaurant- we loved the pork with coconut rotis and the dhal. And lastly, but very importantly, lovely staff. Always with big and genuine smiles and ever ready to help, they made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Chanuka, Shamik and Nupun- they were exceptional.

Food cooked by the host’s mother was one of the best meals we’ve had on our 2 month trip! So great we asked for it for breakfast too. Location was very close to national park and we were given a safari for a good price much cheaper than we’d seen online. Host also drove us to our hotel in Ella the next day! Room was spacious and beds comfy.

The entire place was idyllic. Just off away from the hustle and bustle. The setting is in paddy fields down a dirt track. So, so cool! The manager on sight was extremely helpful and got us a tuktuk and drove with his bike down the track as our car couldn't make it and got us cold fresh juice on arrival. The owner was very helpful via WhatsApp. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Thank you to the team.

A sweet and lovely place to stay. Amazing woodwork combined with creativity makes it a place you want to stay. Some things are still in progress (new rooms), but when finished it will be an overall amazing hotel. Accommodation was generous and all facilities very clean. The staff and manager where very friendly and helpful in any way. Thanks to the team! 😃 Pool Billard table (very nice idea) and lounge area was very cool and wie liked the aquariums. You can have a proper drink at the bar as well. 😁

A beautiful family run this hotel, they are very warm and hospitable, they cooked us lunch, dinner and breakfast. Lovely energy. It was like staying with family. Our kids enjoyed playing with their kid. Lovely pool and a badminton court! They organised our elephant safari. The rooms are basic but clean and very quiet. Thank you
