the hotel was exceptional! the room and all hotel facilities were extra clean and tidy. the staff was nice and helped me at any time with any request. My assistant at the Hotel Sanduni was beneficial and helped me a lot, it was conducive to having a personal assistant. the breakfast was extra diversified and everything was fresh and tasty. the hotel had a lot of activities such as a cocktail workshop, yoga, a game room, a pool, surfing lessons, and much more. The yoga class had a great yoga instructor too, I enjoyed having yoga training in the morning. The hotel was in a great spot in the city, next to a beautiful beach with a great view.

Best hotel in the area and in all south Sri lanka. It's a brand new hotel with a stunning modern Sri Lankan design. It's located in a small quite village between Wiligama and Midigama, a walk distance from the Fishermen beach and very reachable from the main road. The owner of the place is simple amazing, always carring for his tenants. This hotel made my vacation way much better than it was.

This was by far the best stay I’ve had in Weligama, even though it was just a short visit. The property was spotlessly clean, and the room was incredibly comfortable—everything felt well taken care of. The rooftop is definitely the highlight of the hotel, offering stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had—fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The staff were amazing—genuinely friendly, attentive, and always ready to go the extra mile to make sure I had everything I needed. I wish I could have stayed longer. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Weligama!

Best location in Midigama, with amazing beaches scarce of people right in front of it. Tentative and pleasant staff that did their outmost to make our stay the best it could be. All rooms have sea view and were clean and spacious. Food was great.

Lion's Rest had an awesome location, the beach was literally only a 2 min walk, it was really nice to just sit and enjoy the sundown. The room was very nice and clean, with an AC - this was highly appreciated on some days during our stay. The staff was the loveliest, very accommodating and helpful with any request. The breakfast selection is great, as well as the rest of the menu. This was a great stay at the end of our trip - chill, friendly and comfortable. No notes :)

Perfect stay! The hotel is brand new and spotlessly clean. Both the room and the bathroom were a good size. It’s just 30 seconds from the beach, which was incredibly convenient. The owner was super friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was different each day — a lovely touch. Everything was perfect, we were really happy with our stay and would highly recommend it!

    We were there 4 nights during off season.

    We were there 4 nights during off season. There is not much to do there in July. Especially with kids. Since the sea was to rough to swim in! Lots of wind and felt a bit like a ghost town to us. Every restaurant we went to we were the only ones! I think 2 nights would have been more than enough

    Fortunately the place is not in the city of Wellgama which is bery busy, crowdy and noisy city. We resigned from spending more time in the city after 1h walk trying to find a nice area like caffees/restaurants or local small shops where you can buy some hand made staff etc.

    Weligama is an absolute gem for travelers! Whether you're chasing waves or simply looking for a peaceful escape, this place has it all. The beach is fantastic for surfing, with great waves for both beginners and pros, while also offering calm spots perfect for relaxation. The sunrises and sunsets here are truly breathtaking, making every moment by the ocean magical. The town itself is warm and welcoming, with friendly locals, great food, and a laid-back vibe. The only minor downside is the occasional plastic waste, but with more awareness and local efforts, this paradise can be even better. Overall, Weligama is an unforgettable destination that perfectly balances adventure and tranquility—a must-visit for any traveler! 🌴🏄‍♂️🌅

    If you want to learn to surf it’s a great place.

    If you want to learn to surf it’s a great place. But (compared to other places in SL) it’s pretty dull. Half the beach is a litter-strewn dump rest is tolerable if you’re surfing. Precious little else to do.

    Best place to stay in Midigama/Weligama area. Super clean and very comfortable room. Really nice location right in front of the beach. ( close to the main surf spots! ) Friendly staff, really helpful and amazing breakfast. Restaurant available with nice food ( Sri Lankan traditional/western/vegetarian) and rooftop bar with amazing view! They also do scooter rental, taxi service and the bus stop is 2 min walk so easy to move in the area. Felt like at home, I’ll be back for sure. Thank you!

    This was the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. The hotel is right by the beach, fantastic restaurants within walking distance and the room itself is spotless with everything you could want. Chinthaka and his family are ridiculously attentive and lovely. No request was too much and he went out of his way to help us with everything from whale watching to laundry. We stayed for the final leg of our trip for a week and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

    This was very close to a perfect staying. The hotel is located on the beachfront and the adjacent restaurant serves some of the best food we got in Sri Lanka. The rooms are big and clean, very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast is superb, so are the many dishes we ordered while staying there. The owners and staff are all polite and available. I could not recommend this place more!
