Fantastic new hotel, spacious room with south facing balcony overlooking the Valletta bay. Very nice breakfast and super friendly staff, shoutout Marleny. What to say about the hotel’s Monastik restaurant - a must! Tried the better part of the new menu and everything is so delicious, locally sourced, organic. A delight.

People - everyone we encountered was so friendly and professional, whether in reception, restaurant, or housekeeping. As a new hotel which opened in the fall of 2022, the room is spacious with enough/easy storage area. The bed is comfy (the most comfortable setting with good pillows and duvet among 4 places that we tried in this area) and we could see that the team are doing their best to maintain its high standards. The breakfast buffet is well composed with an option to order omelette or fried eggs from your table. It could get busy around 9am but the FB service team is quick and attentive.

I really enjoyed the warm welcome from the staff. Alba is a very stylish building with lovely rooms. The pool area and gardens are very refreshing and lovely to cool off and relax. Our stay was made that much better by the warm welcome we received from the owner and the staff every time we met. Breakfast is well worth the money and very delicious. We had a great 7 day holiday.

I travelled alone for work and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. The hotel smelt amazing as soon as I walked in. The shopping mall was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. A special thank you to Laura from the spa, who kindly arranged last minute treatments for me. I loved the accent bathing ritual, the Rebirth Spirit of Neptune massage, and the Venus Bliss facial all wonderfully relaxing in such a serene setting. Back in my room, I enjoyed a delicious wild boar tortellini before having one of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time, waking up refreshed and recharged. A truly memorable stay with excellent service, relaxing spa experiences, and great food. I would definitely return to hotel for holidays and take advantage of the beautiful rooftop pool and cocktails.

Very professional and helpful staff. The room was very clean, the bed was comfy and the view on Valetta was absolutely amazing. There was an electric kettle, coffee & tea set, small refrigerator and hairdryer in the room. Both room and bathroom were very clean. Housekeeping and fresh towels everyday. The breakfast was not very diverse, but tasty. Good location - many restaurants and stores in the neighborhood, around 20 minutes by bus to Valetta and even faster by ferry.

A Sassy and Lively City In The Heart of Malta

Scenic and energetic, Sliema is perched on the limestone banks of the Mediterranean Sea in the historic and charming island of Malta. It is a perfect coastal holiday destination and ideal base to discover the Maltese Islands.

A short drive from Sliema, Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal offers direct services to Comino and Gozo, which are great for sightseeing, diving, swimming and the unique boat trip around Blue Lagoon.

Discover Malta, from the marvellous Tarxien Temples, to the traditional and colourful boats and fusions of freshly cooked seafood in Marsaxlokk. Afterwards head to Malta's gems, Mdina and Rabat, then around to the belt of Malta, Valletta which features baroque architecture, historic museums and magnificent views from Fort St Elmo over, and beyond Valletta Harbour.

    Location is great, it is in a quiet street, close to the promenade and also a supermarket. 10 minutes slow walk to the ferry. Great location. Room has aircon but not the bath it was advertised with. Room was small, really small, but some other rooms are bigger. View was of a tower block with everyone looking in, so curtains were never opened. No work space as fridge was on worktop. Staff are attentive when I texted them as I never met any of them during my stay. A great hotel, a little over priced for what I got and some decent pillows would be a great investment, over the flat pilow and cushion I had to use.

    Sliema is a very nice place.

    Sliema is a very nice place. Like the rest of Malta, Sliema offers a great variety for all different types of travellers. I would say that I prefer Gozo as a location but Sliema is still very nice and definitely worth visiting. One thing to keep in mind is that the public transport gets very busy all over Malta and this was especially the case in Sliema.

    Sliema is very nice location, but having only very rocky beaches. There are many restaurants and coffee bars, the food is good, but not cheap at all. You could walk along the seaside many kilometers- on both directions (La Valletta and St. Julian).

    "Sliema was absolutely charming. Having previously stayed in St. Paul's Bay and St. Julian's, we found that Sliema was just a short 5-minute bus ride or a pleasant 15-minute walk between the two. Both areas offer an excellent selection of dining options and vibrant bars. Malta, as a whole, is a delightful destination and a perfect choice for a memorable vacation."

    Beautiful location, with fabulous restaurant and beaches. Relaxing location and easy to get boat taxi to visit Valetta which is a must during your visit to Malta. Good value for money. Ate in Manta Beach club in Sliema- food was excellent and so was the service. Ate in Valetta the second night and dined in Sfoglia - again food and service were great. In St. Julians ate in Cub restaurant which was great also. Hung out in one of Beach clubs which was very relaxing.

    The Howard Hotel is a very good choice for a stay in Malta. I was there with my wife and teenage-daugther. The room was friendly, comfortable and clean. We were on the 7th floor, had a roof-terrace with a cool view on the City of Sliema. Special thanks to Ben, the friendly and helpful receptionist! Next time we'll be in Malta, we come to the Howard Hotel again.
