The rooms are super clean and spacious enough. The hot water in the shower was the best we had throughout our travel time in Mexico. The hotel staff was extremely attentive, helping us with high quality day trips and taxi bookings. Amazing value for money.

The Estancia is a lovely. Great location. Lovely staff (Moises, the owners' son who runs the desk was wonderful). Having just travelled down from the Gran Hotel in CDMX, I can say that the beds here were more comfortable than the GH. And they were very comfortable. The whole place is classy and has been designed with care and attention. The new slow food/local ingredients kitchen, with Alphonso Robles, open Thursday to Saturday is a winner. Even if you're not staying there, you should go for this.

This was by far the most beautiful and warmest and most personal accommodation on our México trip! Our room was super comfortably furnished. Everything went very smoothly and we were even able to move into our room directly, although we were much too early at the hotel. We felt very safe due to the very nice staff which responds 24/7 to the guests.. they even made us extra coffee early in the morning. The hotel added a lot to our stay in San Cristobal. We will definitely come back to this warm great diverse city :) Thank you for everything!

    The town is charming, the restaurants serving local cuisine...

    The town is charming, the restaurants serving local cuisine are delightful and the summer climate is amazing. 15 degrees at night and 22 or so during the day with no humidity. There are many activities in or near San Cristobal and we enjoyed the local parks at Arcotete and Grutas del Mamut. Our dogs were able to run off-leash and explore the forest. We spent a month at a Spanish language school (San Cris) which was a wonderful place to improve our language skills.

    This city is beautiful and great for walking.

    This city is beautiful and great for walking. The sidewalks are not as difficult to navigate as in some other cities, but you still need to be careful and have grippy shoes for when it rains. The weather was lovely and cool; a nice break for us Texans in the month of June. We didn’t have nearly enough time here and we hope to return and explore more!

    Gorgeous city.

    Gorgeous city. Felt very local as well as having touristy ammenities. Unfortunately the trip to the Chiflon falls also includes a detour to lakes. The first is great, the second, not worth the time and effort. If you're adventuresom, go to the falls with collectivos instead. Chamula is really special. I went to market day at 8 in the morning and was the only foreigner. Like time travelling! The leftist cinema in town was really unique! The Na Bolom cultural museum was fascinating. I also had a terrific inexpensive meal there.

    Definitely worth visiting and spending a few days.

    Definitely worth visiting and spending a few days. Lots of really nice local eateries and the Mayan Textile Museum is worth visiting. Just wandering through the town is interesting. MUY Gallery also good. If you are thinking of doing a bus tour to Zona Arqueologica Palenque (via Cascadas de Agua Azul and Cascada Misol Ha) and you suffer from motion sickness think carefully. It is an 18+ hour day (4am ~ 10:30pm) with most of that in the bus on winding mountain roads and many speed bumps (a device used in Mexico to slow traffic down in towns). I learned the hard way.

    A beautiful local town full of the vibes and energy that the mix of local peoples and outsiders brings. We found some online reviews mystifying with their huge exuberance about quite ordinary offerings but overall felt that the standard of both food and drink high. For money the Santander off Zocalo had a fee of M$34 which is acceptable but you need to read Spanish…it’s pretty obvious.

    People were friendly and helpful; however, I would bring enough "change-pesos" especially if you need to get anything from the store they kept saying they didnt have change. Also at money exchange they dont have enough to exchange your dollars. I would suggest you take enough change(pesos-coins as well) :)

    Casa Lum is a beautiful boutique hotel, with friendly staff, excellent breakfast, little garden, and cosy room. And on top, the location is great. In the calle guadelupe, with a lot of bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood, in the middle of the historic centre. The fact they offered a parking spot 2 min away was a big plus.

    The best! Hot showers. Everything is so cute and clean. You have the feeling to be in a high end hotel. The stuff is really nice and you can do early checkin and leave your luggage if necessary. I totally loved the Mexican blanket on our bed. They also lend hair dryers. 10 minutes by foot from the centre. Perfect!
