We loved Ruana, her children, their hospitality and kindness. We really recommend the cultural tour and trying the traditional food. Everything was clean, it was quiet, the bed was comfy. It was cool to stay in a palace.

Very nice and comfortable housing in the middle of seemingly nowhere. (Though it's only 16km off of main road) Place has outside kitchen with all the necessary equipment for grilling. Separate kudos to owner Eddie who is very welcoming helpful and informative.

The food was delicious, the bar lady HILMA was super awesome, the CHEF'S was amazing, the Lady at Reception was very Friendly. The cleaner that spoke afrikaans was very Polite. The security was very helpful too. We enjoyed every moment.

    If you're planning on going to Etosha, Omuthiya is a great...

    If you're planning on going to Etosha, Omuthiya is a great spot to base yourself out of. It's about an hour from the northern most section of the park, which we found to be the best spot from which to see predators in particular. The town isn't particularly well lit or well represented on Google Maps, though, so I would advise getting there well before sunset to make sure that you find your accommodation. Residents are incredibly helpful and will assist with directions is needed.
