Egmond aan Zee is a charming little beach town in the...
Egmond aan Zee is a charming little beach town in the Netherlands with all the shops and Restaurants you could wish for. As a family of four we liked to walk to the Dekamarkt for our daily breakfast and snacks at the beach. At night we would eat at restaurants, at the typically Dutch snackbar 'Bij Brigitte' or eat Kibbeling(fish) at the Coast. We rented bikes for the day to travel further out. The remains of a castle in Egmond aan de Hoef was very interesting for our preteens and the next coastal town over 'Bergen aan Zee' was lovely as well. We visted the Aquarium there which was facinating for the entire family. Venturing out by foot into the Duinen is recommended as well. We saw wild Horses, oxes and a gorgeous sunset. In the Smidstraat there was a little secondhand Shop full of antiques. So much so that it seemed more a Museum than a shop! Everybody seemed to be able to speak a little German and if not their amazing english skills were impressive! I hope you have a wonderful time in Egmond aan Zee.Guest review byEveAustria

Well the pictures do not do the hotel justice! Not only does it have one of the best locations (the beach letterly starts across the street), it is superclean and our room was bigger than we expected. Normally we're a couple that wants to explore a new accommodation every trip, but we already decided to come back here next year. Our room was a good size with a recently refurbished bathroom a separate area with storage, a fridge and a chair. The bed was comfortable and the room spotlessly clean.
