Meppel is a really nice town in Drenthe.
Meppel is a really nice town in Drenthe. Come here for a taste of the real Netherlands - well away from the tourists. Meppel is a quiet town located in bucolic surrounding. Despite some bulk agribusiness on the outskirts, Meppel retains a pleasant pedestrianised centre. It is located on the long-distance cycle route LF9 and the spectacular village of Giethoorn is 35 mins cycling away.
