Amazingly brilliant resort. Loved the fact that the focus is on the forest and wildlife, not the usual luxuries. No wifi in the room and that is really good. The food was just excellent - clean, fresh and delicious. I am vegan and the chef took special care to accommodate that constraint. The lodge manager was very courteous and helpful. The resort itself is small and one feels like one is in the middle of a forest. Its right next to the core zone so not much habitation around. Special mention of Reshmi in Sales/Reservation who was exceptional in coordinating my travel from Kathmandu including the airport pick ups and drop. I am sure i will be back here soon.

This small hotel is set about 10 mins walk from the main gate into Bardia National Park. The bungalows are set well back from the small road hence they are very quiet indeed. The bungalows are spaced out so you are not bothered by noise from anyone else. The bungalow was well constructed with a spacious bathroom and air conditioning if needed. The two single beds were very comfortable. The hotel has a small restaurant and bar set in the garden. There is a good choice on the menu and food arrives in good time . It is cooked exactly as you asked for. The staff were exceptionally friendly helpful and informative. They organised our pickup to and from the airport and organised two walking tours in the forest with their resident guide who was so helpful. They also cooked some great food to take into the park as a small picnic. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

This family makes me happy. They became family to me. We first met in 2020, but then covid happened and I suddenly had to go home. We kept in touch over the years. This March I returned to Nepal, to find some closure for the abrupt ending of my trip, and I came back to Bardia for them especially. ♥️ They all have a big heart, helping out with whatever you need. They really go an extra mile for you. Basu does important work within the community, helping and volunteering, giving education. He teaches others about the wildlife and how to live together with the wildlife, to protect both animal and human. Shardul is always there for you, stands beside you and you can come to him with any question. He's like a little brother to me and became a dear friend. Sarita is warm and welcoming. Her cooking is really the best I've had in Nepal. She now teaches this to Jyoti and Sumitra, two sweet girls they have in employment. And lets not forget their puppy Chelsey 😍 I've stayed 2,5 weeks this time. I went into the jungle for 8 days in total, jungle walks and twice jeep safari. I saw tigers more than once, a leopard, an elephant herd, single male elephant, rhino's, otters, the great hornbill bird (very rare to see), crocodiles, mongoose, many dear, golden jackell, river dolphins, monkeys and many birds. We even had a very special sighting of a tiger very close by (less than 100m on eye level). Their guide Santos is great; you can tell that he's connected to the nature around him and highly values your safety. My other days I spend in their garden with many flowers, to write and read and do my yoga practice. I slept in a treehouse in the community forest (part of the jungle) for one night (heard the tiger roar!) and Basu took me on a village tour to see the Tharu culture. All in all I can highly recommend this homestay! You'll be taken good care off and have everything you need for a comfortable time in Bardia. You can ask them anything.

Thank You Very Much, it's like saying nothing... 20 out of 10 possible points won't reflect the experiences I had here!!! Simply-you have to stay there for a while to experience it all. My appreciation goes togoes to Sonja and her family for taking care of me and as well to everyone each person of the team-individually. An extraordinary people and charming place!!!

We would get freshly prepared local Nepali food which was absolutely delicious! They have a wide selection of authentic local food to choose from. If you're in the right season, you can also get to try some fresh local honey! The location of the homestay is great, it is very close to the entrance of the national park. We had a great stay here, and had some incredible wildlife sightings (Rhinos, elephants, tigers, hornbills) thanks to the sharp eyes of Tek Bahadur (fondly called Pappu). Will definitely come to visit again!

From start to finish I can just say that I had a wonderful time at Mr B's Place. The property is situated in a beautiful location right next to the entrance of Bardia National Park. I opted mainly for local food and that was delicious. The guided walks into the park were great and the guides were attentive and very knowledgeable. It was a privilege to see bengal tigers and indian rhino in the wild like that and the evening talks around the fireplace will stay long in the memory bank. I will definitely recommend Mr B's Place to friends and family. Thank you for a great time.

It was a pleasure and an honor to stay at Wild Planet. Baba is an inspiring individual who besides many obstacles had strength and courage to follow his heart and share his true passion with visitors from all over the world. He guides them through the beauty of Bardyia National Park and together with his team, he makes sure your stay will be an experience you will never forget. Go stay at Baba's eco retreat, go to the reserve, ask him questions about the local area, Nepali culture, his experiences abroad. Enjoy delicious food, have a walk around the village, talk to the locals, play with the dogs and don't let the monkeys steal your food. Go, and if you really want to see a tiger, you will see it!
