Great staff, they treated you like you were their family. The manager was a really kind and caring person. Great location in the heart of Thamel near some wonderful restaurant. A ten minutes walk from tourist bus stop. Really clean rooms. They even insisted, yes really insisted !! to upgrade my room. When I needed taxi the staff and even the manager spend time and used his/her cellphone and with transportation applications managed a taxi with the best prices. They even changed dollar to rupee with best price. I am definitely coming back to this hotel.

We stayed here only during the day because we have evening flight the same day we arrived. Everything was perfect. Complimentary airport pick up and check in at 10AM. Room was great and location as well. We did not have breakfast so they offered us discount at the restaurant. I recommend this hotel. Great value for money.

I highly recommended this hotel. It is Excellent when it come to service and location. It is very near to most tourist attractions that you are planning to go. Thanks to the Manager also Mr. Tusli who help us alot in our Phokara trip. He is really approachable and hands on to his team. It is always rough to arrive late at night in a place and not know what to expect but they were the BEST! Even though my plane was three hours late they still had someone waiting for me at the airport but not only that, when I arrived they had give me a free upgrade to a suite! It just so happened to be on the Turquoise floor which is my favorite color so it was perfect. Extremely friendly staff, always making sure I had everything I needed. One even took me to a barber personally! They really went above and beyond. Thank you so much!

    On the first day of Kathmandu in the city bus I was stolen money from my poshest. Until that time I had thought that Nepali were honest and diligent. So that I didn’t pay attention to things like having my money stolen on the bus. On the last day the airport was closed because of the strike, so I had to reschedule my ticket and stay in hotel one night more The city is so dusty and lots of rubbish. However, I like the old cultural constructions and festivals.

    You have to say No!

    You have to say No! Everyone wants you to buy from them but they are used to being rejected. There are some people wanting to talk to you, often wanting to show you their workplaces etc so they can lure you in to buy their wares. Conversations always start with Hello sir/madam. Which country are you from? However, lovely people and a lo ely place, full of history and religious beliefs.

    Treekers home provides an excellent accommodation facilities in low cost. Especially, staffs were very helpful and the location of the hotel was also nice. Note: There is a big room to improve the light and bathroom facilities. But it is perfect for those who find low cost hotel in Thamel.

    Why satkar hotel and spa write because of that spa is not available it's very wrong information to people due to all are booking stay with spa facilities is available therefore my suggestion please remove spa word immediately Kathmandu is very good please for visiting

    Mostly stayed in Thamel tourist area and ate at many local spots: House of MoMo, Third Eye, Yok Bar were all great! But careful as some of the menu descriptions can be a little misleading. Ex: I received a 'chicken skewer' meal that was NOTHING like described. It was even missing the skewers. But the staff was extremely helpful and eager to please. The traffic/driving is crazy! Mopeds/motorbikes are high percentage of use, with automobiles being less visible in the high tourist areas. It is REALLY dusty everywhere. Wear a mask or buff if you have allergy/breathing issues. Always carry your own TP if you're not used to using squatty potty's and bidets!

    Thamel is a good location for tourist, shopping and food will totally depend on your choices. Friendly area and lost of money changes and ATM. It's a good place if you like working. Pls ensure that you have a mask as it is a little dusty.
