We were there to see the wrath of a passing cyclone on the beach and the sea so it was exciting! The wee shop on the corner that sells coffees and deli meats and lovely breads is amazing! Waihi Beach is lovely, a lot of swimming and surfing going on. Its been years since we last visited and it has got so much bigger. We went to Waihi to learn about the Goldmining history. What a beautiful beach, stunning is the word.
What a beautiful beach, stunning is the word. Lots of activity on the sand and in the water. Plenty of surfers and swimmers enjoying themselves. We enjoyed our T/aways at the beach in the evening light. We loved the beach and appreciated being within walking distance to it. There is a village with supermarket, butcher, chemist, bottle shop and gifts/clothes/homewares stores. Most importantly, we were able to bring our dog and have her inside with us. Often “pets allowed” only extends to service dogs or small dogs. Ours is not lol.
