It is a beautiful small city (with the cathedral and diocese), with an Old Town, adorable cobble streets and so on. It is a place with the most sunny days in Poland and a good area for wine-making. The visit to St. James Winery (Winnica Św. Jakuba) is highly recommended - try especially Dominicus wine (white dry). Plenty restaurants around - I would recommend Dwa Okna in the Main Square (Rynek) for good quality beef. Burgers in Sandomierz are surprisingly made of pork, so avoid. As per breakfast I have enjoyed ciabatta based sandwiches served in Kordegarda at the Main Square. Avoid a place called Kosa Ostra in Opatowska Street (the corner of Main Square): they advertise breakfasts not mentioning how late they are served, and if you come just after 12 noon, breakfasts are not available (surprise, surprise), they don't have white sugar (just the brown one, which is not any healthier, but simply not rafinated), and they offer pork only burgers.Guest review byOperMaSeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The city of Sandomierz is just lovely.
The city of Sandomierz is just lovely. Beautiful market square, located on the bring of the Wistula river on the hills. The vineyards surrounding the city are beautiful. Historic Renaissance town - a must for foreign travellers to Poland, easy to get around. Favourite places: the Old Town, Town Hall, the Cathedral, The Dlugosz House, churches (especially St. Jacob's and St Joseph's), the Needle's Eye (Furta Dominikańska). The hotel has a great historic vibe to it, with large exposed beams running across the building. Arriving is pleasant. The building obviously does not have an elevator, so expect a climb on some impressive stairs. The breakfast and service is great - with options to have hot dishes, such as eggs and pancakes made to order. The room (1) was spacious and light, with a clean and functional 90-ies bathroom. Staff were on top of everything, very informative and friendly. Restaurant was lovely and the breakfast was good. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Tea and coffee at the end of the corridor aswell. The hotel is decorated in a rustical style and fits the building beautifully.
