We did enjoy our stay! When we arrived at the middle of the night in a heavy rain, María asked us: What are you doing here?? Well, I believe, we were looking for a place like yours, dear 😊 The tranquility, the nature, the hospitality - we all found there. We just wish we could stay for longer and try jacuzzi! The room was comfortable and cozy, the yard was beautiful and my husband, who's very picky when it comes to the towels for some reason, was completely content with its quality and size 😄 We felt very welcomed, oh and the breakfast was abundant 👌

This is well worth the experience. The hotel was impeccably decorated, peaceful and confortable - we really liked the way the industrial theme was maintained throughout and how its original purpose was incorporated in every detail. The staff were also super friendly, they went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Finally, the food served by chef Pedro was delicious and fresh - we could tell how much preparation went into every step.

The accommodation is very cozy. Beautiful situated in Torrao, definitely a recommendation when passing by. Susy and Jorge are very welcoming, lovely people and make you feel immediately at home. The place itself has everything which you need. The view from the terrace is amazing and perfect to have breakfast in the sun! Big big recommendation!!

Our flights had been delayed, then we had to negotiate an off-site airport car rental, so we only arrived around 19h30 but this was an easy and short drive from Lisbon for our first night in Portugal – perfect start to our trip. We stopped at a supermarket just outside Montemor-o-Novo for a few essential provisions (Breakfast mostly). On arrival, we gave Gertrude a call and she was there to show us in within a minute. Our room was well appointed with modern finishes. The shared area provided a lounge area with large TV, a kitchen and a dining area. We asked Gertrude about a local taverna or restaurant (Tasqhinua) and within a minute, she had a table booked at Tasqhinua Ai Ai (A must do!!!). We met John and Lizzie from Oz at the accommodation and suggested they join us and we all took a stroll into the village for supper. The village was very authentic and had an old communal wash-house. Next day, we had a simple breakfast before heading off. We would be very happy to recommend Girassol for longer stays, there’s a lot of attractions close by. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and there is even a swimming pool.
