Very friendly family run place. They went out of their way to provide me with a vegan breakfast which was very much appreciated. It's a great place, super clean, spacious rooms, and a cafe next door. There is safe off-street parking which is locked at night. All in all a great place to stay.

I had a wonderful stay at this lovely homestay! The house was spotless and very well-equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I had an amazing experience staying at Refúgio Vale da Pipa! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how clean and fresh everything was. The place had such a welcoming vibe, with a cozy and organized layout that made it easy to settle in. The 2 bedroom setup was perfect, and the garden was beautifully maintained and such a peaceful spot to relax with a cup of coffee or just enjoy the outdoors. The location was another huge plus. It’s so convenient being within walking distance of everything you could need. There’s a supermarket nearby for groceries, a lovely park where the kids could play, and even clothing stores if you want to do a bit of shopping. The bus station was also super close, which made getting to Lisbon easy and stress free. What really stood out to me, though, was the host. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for my stay. From answering questions to providing recommendations, they were friendly, approachable, and always ready to help. It’s rare to find that level of hospitality! Overall, this house felt like a home away from home, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay!

Quita da Fonte is a little paradise! The area is really beautiful. It's so cute and peaceful. The room was great. There is little cosy bar, with books and games. The 2 owners are really nice, super welcoming. They even prepared us a great gluten free breakfast, which was delicious! Thanks for a lovely stay! We definitely recommend it.

    The town has a history of an artist's retreat, with a museum and Malhoa, the most famous artist's, residence. It has historic medieval buildings in a cobblestreet old town center. There is a large Saturday market with a lot of variety. The hilly countryside is gorgeous and features Sao Simao River Beach for swimming and hiking. It is easy to spend a week or more in the area.

    A really pleasant village tucked away in the countryside, slightly off the beaten track-which suited us fine. A relatively good choice of places to eat in the evening, so you can leave the car at the hotel and wander about. Local people friendly and helpful, we enjoyed it there.

    I stayed in the historical center of town and it was...

    I stayed in the historical center of town and it was excellent. The hotel was excellent. I felt safe. There were restaurants, coffee shops, laundry and shopping all within walking distance. There is an Intermarche in town . Also the bus station was walking distance I was able to take to Lisbon and then connect down to the Algarve. I met with a realtor and looked at 4 properties outside of town. I definitely could see myself living in Figueiro dos Vinhos. If nothing else it's worth a visit to central Portugal. The food and drink were very affordable in this town compared to the more touristy areas in the Algarve.

    We stayed as a family of four in the cottage.

    We stayed as a family of four in the cottage. When we booked, we were fully aware that the property is ideal for 2 as the sofa bed is small. However the natural beauty of the surroundings was absolutely breathtaking and magical. Our two daughters of 21 and 18 were in absolute awe of the place! The rustic cottage was beautifully renovated and clean and we were delighted! I strongly recommend renting this property if you want to experience a magical stay swimming in your private natural pond in the morning, eating as you watch the river flow 10 meters away and falling asleep to the rustling of leaves and the flowing waters of Praga SAO SIMAO. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED! The host was very quick to reply to all our messages. Thank you!

    Nice area with lots of small local businesses. Friendly and helpful people. Generally good quality traditional reasonably priced food served in the restaurants and cafes. Great base to explore the area from.
