Our first time to this part of Portugal, so choosing Furadoura was a a bit of an unknown for us. However it was perfect. Quiet town, great beaches, plenty of facilities and near to Ovar, Porto and Aveiro for excursions. The property more than met expectations, being right beside the Atlantic we could hear the sea, but closing the double doors blocked out environmental noise. The Apartment was very well kitted out, more than big enough for a family of 5, with balconies facing South and North. We were worried about the lack of AC, but this was not a problem for this part of Portugal, the evenings were fine for sleeping. The complex had an indoor (used when we had a few rainy days) and outdoor pool, neither of which were ever too busy, though towards the end of our stay the complex was filling up. I made use of the fitness area, which is in need of updating, but fine to keep the body ticking over...It was a short walk to the south beach, which could be quite rough but was guarded and ok to swim. The North beach was a little further away, so we only visited once - again very nice. Plenty of local cafes, restaurants and bars meant that the evenings were catered for. Local shops were good, and there was a Continente approx 3 km away if required. Highly recommended.

Booked the stay the same day for a great price and the room was spacious, loads of hot water and best of all, the shower had a lot of pressure (low water pressure,a gripe of mine with a lot of places). Would definitely recommend it.

We spent two wonderful weeks on the Atlantic coast of Portugal – just 30 km from Porto – and enjoyed every minute of it! It was a truly memorable experience that I highly recommend – definitely something not to be missed! The brand-new Rednyx Hotel and its adjoining Golden Baco Restaurant are real gems. True to their motto “We strive for excellence”, they effortlessly live up to the highest standards. In addition to the excellent facilities and outstanding cuisine, we especially want to highlight the warmth and helpfulness of the host family and the entire team – they truly made our stay unforgettable. We will certainly be back – not only to enjoy the delicious Portuguese specialties at Golden Baco and to relax in its pleasant atmosphere, but also to explore the many sights around Cortegaça that we have yet to discover – and of course, to dive once again into the refreshing waves of the Atlantic!

The room (and the hotel as well) appears to have been newly renovated. My room has a balcony overlooking the river. There is a medium-sized supermarket next to the hotel which is really convenient for some drinks or snacks. The staff was very friendly, helpful yet efficient.

    Furadouro is a small town, part of the municipality of Ovar,...

    Furadouro is a small town, part of the municipality of Ovar, on the coast of the Atlantic. It has a lot of surf schools and is definitely a good place to start learning. In both directions, you can walk along the beach for a long time or explore the dunes or the pine forest with a bike path that stretches along the coast. It's walkable, but the connection to other places is limited: a bus goes between Ovar and Furadouro, and from Ovar, you'd need to take a train to get to nearby places. Otherwise, one can drive or take a taxi. The tourist information centre is helpful as well and can advise on activities in the area. Most things are quite cheap (e.g. espresso at 0,80 EUR and a small beer at 1,20 EUR). The restaurants are ok, there is a great pizzeria (La Scala) and a lot of places with fish. Not very vegan-friendly, unlike bigger cities, and not a shopping destination – but it's a very calm and friendly place. The beach has two levels, the top level has tents that can be rented (they protect from sun and wind), and there is also a free area where you can come with your own umbrella. The lower level is just sand and stones, and a lot of people spend time there. The beach itself is free and supervised by lifeguards. Overall, it's a great place to stay if you are into nature, the ocean, wind and waves.

    Furadouro is a very small town, not very touristy which is...

    Furadouro is a very small town, not very touristy which is nice but other than the beach there is really not much to do here. There are a few great local restaurants which you need to book on a weekend. You can take the bus to Ovar nearby which is beautiful. I loved it as I was looking to spend some time alone relaxing, so it is a great escape in this sense, but travellers looking for more to do should perhaps consider elsewhere.

    Has a great beach, day and night life.

    Has a great beach, day and night life. Close to the market and other points of interest. On the day we went two festivals were going on! Always stuff to see and try! And if you are not in the mood for exploring, spending sometime at the beach is relaxing too.

    This is a great beach and bike add-on if you are staying in Porto. Furadouro itself is a small beach town with a few shops, a few restaurants a churro- snackbar a bumper-car ride (though that may not be there always?) and miles of beautiful clean beach and dunes. Good family stay and base for touring central Portugal region.

    We only stayed for one night. But this is a great mini-hotel, so you can stay for a few nights. Located next to the ocean. There are many shops and cafes nearby. We booked a double room with a private bathroom. The room is very cozy, clean and comfortable. Towels and toiletries (shampoo and shower gel) were included. The hotel also provides umbrellas for the beach. In the morning we had breakfast on the veranda. Breakfast is a modest buffet. Everything was delicious. I recommend the hotel.

    Rui and his family made us feel very welcome! They are super hosts: nice, helpful, open for good chats and jokes. The breakfast on the terrace was a super start in the day especially the fresh orange juice. The Location of the hostel is great. Just a short walk away from the beach and the center of Furadouro with supermarket, bakery, shops and restaurants. I can recommend it to anyone!     The location is very good located, so it’s only a few minutes walk to the beach or to some restaurants/shops. The Hotel as a shared kitchen, which is good equipped. The room looks like on the pictures and the bed was super comfortable and u get fresh towels every two days. Paulo, the host is super friendly and open for questions and helps u anytime. Thanks! Also the check in and out was very flexible.

    Cosy and comfortable room, very amazing touch to gorgeous details in all house and very beautiful interior in a room, very welcoming and cosy places for shared use in kitchen, living room- very thoughtful of a host!!. Amazing place for pleasant stay very close to everything. Welcoming and friendly host! Amazing beach just 5 min from the the place, and Furadouro beach has amazing sunsets.
