The town is well worth a visit.
The town is well worth a visit. It was a shame we didn't have more time fo the thermal baths - they're not open on a Sunday. The Bussaco Castle was beyond our expectations, the hotel...
The Bussaco Castle was beyond our expectations, the hotel staff were amazing, a representative showed us the lobby area and the amenities prior to our room arrival after our check in. We had a fantastic room (The Queen room). There are several activities to do such the visit to the convent/museum, the shop, and long walking trails in the forest, this was an incredible stay for us to celebrate a very special event, we had dinner at the hotel and the dinner was superb, the bartender knows how to make great mix drinks, the entire staff in the hotel were welcoming, friendly and courteous. Located in the heart of the Serra do Bussaco, Palace Hotel...
Located in the heart of the Serra do Bussaco, Palace Hotel do Bussaco is an excellent example of Manueline-Gothic architecture. The hotel itself felt almost like a ghost town when we arrived in the slow hours of the afternoon, with the exception of the very friendly host. It’s a fascinating building (Olympic pool and high dives? Squash courts? 50s-reminiscent high contrast decor?) that piqued our interest in the history of the area. Rooms, corridors, staircase, azulejos have impressed us very much.
