Excellent location both to explore the island and visit the town. Quiet and peaceful area. A supermarket just round the corner. The town centre with a few good restaurant within the walking distance. It's a magical place. We loved every second we spent there. It's like a dreamy sanctuary in Balinese style. Staff is very kind and helpful. Breakfast was great. We enjoyed sauna too. Private outdoor bathtube was amazing.

It was an absolutely beautiful apartment and I really enjoyed staying there, it had everything you might need and plenty of space to chill if you need it the Sky lights were amazing for watching the stars at night. The host was so so lovely and helpful I would definitely stay here again

    Great local place.

    Great local place. I am very glad I have not spend the time in Funchal. From here I could explore the whole island and had my peace in the evening but with vibrant Sunday as all the locals come to town for their coffee and markets.

    The nature and surroundings are just stunning.

    The nature and surroundings are just stunning. It is so much to see around, people are so friendly and happy to help. Loved it, however could not do it without rental car. We hired large family car, however next time we would go for something smaller as roads are narrow and parking in the town could be challenging in the large car.

    The villa is wonderful for those with a vehicle and ability/...

    The villa is wonderful for those with a vehicle and ability/desire to drive up the mountain - we found this particularly fun. There a number of stairs so check which villa you get - some have just 4 stairs some have 150 but all very quiet, private and beautiful.

    We used Ribeira Brava as a base for exploring walks in the west of Madeira using the local buses. It is a modern town in a narrow valley and lacks the charms of Funchal. However, it has a several eating places, shops and a small sheltered beach. It is a hub for a number of bus routes.

    I only have positives information to share.

    I only have positives information to share. There was a coffee bar a 5 minute walk from the hostel - D Luis Restaurante- delicious local feed- skewers on a Laurel stick with chunks of delicious local beef . Difficult to get around without a car. Next time I shall rent a car.

    Public transport in Madeira is a pain, so if you don't drive...

    Public transport in Madeira is a pain, so if you don't drive, it's not easy to get here. Bus information are lacking or are not very clear. Ribeira Brava is a quiet, cozy place, where you can have good restaurants, supermarket and can start nice trips from here.

    Comfortable, spacious, well equipped apartment. Really helpful instructions from owners about the property - how to access it including parking, and how to use the hot tub etc. as well as information and recommendations on places to visit. Good locations, it’s an easy walk into Ribeira Brava following the track across the road to access restaurants, supermarket etc. and also well located to get to Funchal and other parts of the island with a hire car.

    Due to problems with the landing, we arrived at the hotel one day later. Communication about the delay was good. We received a certain discount on the first night for our late arrival and a snack when we arrived at the hotel. The rooms have ocean views, are air-conditioned and are located in the quiet southern part of Madeira. Although the hotel is on a hill, it is a very good starting point for exploring the hotel.

    Location: We mainly choose this place for the location, and it did not disappoint! Right in the middle of the Island, the perfect place to explore the whole of Madeira. Also a calm place, away from the busy traffic of Funchal and nearby coastal towns. Equipment: We had a lot of different equipment in the kitchen. Also chairs and a grill outside. It was pretty awesome.

    Great location in a beatiful town of Ribeira Brava. Close to shops, restaurants and a gas station. Private parking spot in an underground garage. The apartment is huge and offers an amazing view of the ocean from its balcony.
