The town itself was quaint.
The town itself was quaint. I do not recommend buying admission tickets to the castle. The lines are insane, and there is NOT much to see in the castle. You can actually have a better time walking around the park at the bottom of the castle, and take better pictures. Inside there are many places that you are not allowed to take pics and are closely monitored. So, bypass the crowds, go into the park for free, even bring your pets (allowed in park but not the castle), have a nice cup of coffee from the cafe on the corner (Coffee 5). There is also a really good bakery right next door to the Coffee 5, it's called Mama's *** , and they have wonderful breads and baked goods. These two places also use cards, however, most PLACE ONLY TAKE CASH (RON). If you want the souveniers , such as magnets and postcards, there is a shop at the bottom of the castle, in the park, an official castle shop, they take cards and cash. I don't recommend buying at the market, you can haggle and ask for discounts, but again, cash only and the quality is cheap. You really should head over to Raskov and see the fort and dino land . The forest, walks, hiking trails and large fort with unforgettable views was seriously the saving grace and highlight of the trip. So the take away is this: 1: Skip the lines and DO NOT ENTER THE CASTLE, but stay outside in the park. 2: There is an excellent view point across from the castle, on the hill there is a cross, directly across from the castle. 3: Have coffee at Coffee 5 and buy baked goods nect door. 4: BRING CASH for shopping, except at Penny (supermarket) of verified shop. 5: go to Rasnov...take the entire day. 6: Enjpy the park at the bottom of the Castle, Bran.Guest review byShannon B.United States - 6.0

It was Halloween and we visited the castle, a very long line (only to be expected of course on that day!) but worth the wait. Personally I wouldn’t recommend going for Halloween as the traffic and parking is crazy! Very busy with tourists, generally over crowded. Best to go on a weekday. My opinion is about the city, not the castle (the castle is a great place to visit!). Unfortunatelly, the city disappointed me. It is neglected, not managed properly. There are no sidewalks, the park should be better maintained. The city is very small so making it a clean, tourist-friendly place should not be challenging.Guest review byAgataPoland

We enjoyed watching how sunrise and sunset enlights Bran Castle directly from your hotel room. There are plenty of parking places at hotel premises included in cost which is handy because Bran is very busy and overcrowded during turistic season. You can eat breakfast outside on terrace, plenty of choices for breakfast. Several nice rest areas inside and outisde of the hotel where you can sit and relax. The view from terrace at the front or our room was perfect. The hotel was well finished and very tastefully reflected the area. Comfortable room, all hosts very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and extensive! We ate dinner there and that was very good too. Room was worm and heating was already on (start of October stay). Breakfasts were AMAZING!!!
